    Highly recommended non Tokai

If you ever see an Dearmond M-75 or M-75T give it a try, I bought mine for next to nothing and boy o boy is it sweet, resonant isn't the word they are almost as loud as acoustics unplugged and the USA made pickups are fantasic. Spot on finish and silky smooth neck to go. A very underrated machine!

    Yamaha Studio Lord ( 80ies??)

Weird a friend of mine had a Studio Lord 450 and it has a solid two piece top and correct headstock and is fantastic! This is apparently a higher grade model and yet does not look the biz.

    GoldStar Sound Strato On EbAy

Nice, not a lot of grain on the bod, were any early Tok's made with Basswood? Trussrod cover on headstock doesn't look like walnut - odd?

Just bagged a nice Goldstar, my first.

A whole heap of junk :D Now praying it gets here safely. Actually i'm having a lot of luck as recently I also picked up a Dearmond/Guild M-75 second hand, in store for ?145! Another recommended and underpriced guitar

    Japan vs Korea ...

I just bought a Korean Korina SG on Ebay (buy now) for ?100 -Seymour duncan at the bridge too. Now unless Korean Tokais are on par with Tawainese Squires then I couldn't be a happier bunny.

    TOKAI LS50 REBORN

There's a outside chance that I may be able to buy one soon - with 'Les Paul' logo on headstock. It's a sunburst model with a two piece cap. I'm selling a lot of guitars in order to buy this guitar - what price tops should I consider paying? Bearing in mind the guitar is in Japan and it will...

    I know this is naughty...

however the topic/guitar in question is loosely related to early Tokai production. I just bought this for what hopefully is a bargain price, a few issues but non too serious according to the seller. What do you think, anyone out there have any opinions on this model...

    335 modles

Sorry for late reply - missed this one - the shop in Birmingham used to be called Musical Exchange - on Snow Hill? Related to this does anyone know if the 335 type models are mostly Korean and Japanese models being scarcer.

    Tokai v's Orville

I'm about to take the plung on buying a Pauly/Loverock type guitar and wonder if anyone has tried/owned an Orville Les Paul as a comparison to a mid range Loverock

    RESHAPING HEADSTOCKS

I actually like Tokais variant on the classic shape - it one of the few that actually seems in keeping with shape of the body etc Epiphone 'Strat' anyone?

    Decent Tele/Breezy neck pickup wanted

Especially a BREEZYSOUND or noiseless model. Cheers

    RESHAPING HEADSTOCKS

I can't help noticing that the new headstock design on single coil Tokai models could easily be reshaped to the standard St**, Te** shape - the longer design rather invites this - Tokai being cheeky perhaps? - matron pass me the hacksaw! Anyone had a go - what are the best tools etc?

    LS 75Q inflated UK prices

Two I can recommend from experience are S&J Music in Lichfield Staffs (near the Cathedral - good second hand selection and a Gordon Smith stockist) & Intersound on Narborough Road in Leicester so if you're passing through either town...
