The problem is shielding. If you do this, hums will be reduced. I did the same in my Hardpuncher. Sorry for my english:)

Your country doesn't make difference for me. Since those over 20 years all of Tokai bases could be everywhere in the world. My bass came to Poland from Vienna. I wish I know where it was since made day :)

When You buy guitar, it doesen't mean that it was made in the same year. Guitar can be made few years ago.

Very nice Hard Puncher. It looks like some pre '82-83 HP. Those small keys look terrible to me. P-Basses with maple fingerboard are great:) I must have second P-Bass pickup like you in my Hard Puncher:)

I'll install some Gotoh or Shaller tuners. If I have more money, I'll buy Hipshot set with D-tuner 8)

No :D The signed part is screwed in. It moves and screwes out.

I think that Tokai is really perfectly copy of Fender, so the neck should be good.

Tree screw tuners in my Hard Puncher are not so good as they should. The E key don't hold the tune. Other ones also makes problems. This part of tuner that is screw in, still screwes out. I must install some new ones. Sorry for my english. I hope you know what I mean i that post :D

Knobs in my '84 Hard Puncher are full metal with scerws.

Hi. This is my lovely Tokai Hard Puncher Left-Hand. Please, tell me what year it is? The neck plate number is 217231 Neck stamp is "4 = 5" Body stamp is "4 - 5 OW V" - I'm not sure that this is "V" Thanks for help:)
