Back in 1985 I got this at a vintage shop on Sunset Blvd. The body was stripped to natural at the time. Over the years came the gold finish, Seymour Duncan Hotrail, the re-fret with 6105s and a lot of hard playing. I decided to take it apart and do a little noise reduction work...so here it is.

The '54 models I've seen have the 3 color, but they have been '79 or later. Maybe '78 was a different story?

My '79 Springy Sound purchased in '84 had already been messed with enough that I could set it up as I pleased. Now that I have aquired a clean '78, it only lacks that vintage bare wood feel to get it all the way to "real" strat status. Ned B
