    Tokai Strat pickguard and pickup

Hi guys, just thinking of selling a pickguard and middle, staggered E/U pickup. I no longer own the guitar they are from, 1983 TST-62...not sure of the value...let me know if you are interested before they go on ebay next week. Pickguard is well used but no deep scratches or cracks. Vintage...

    Need to replace tremolo AST-56

jacco, not sure about the string spacing, you may be right, but screw holes lined up perfectly and once installed , intonation was pretty accurate and only needed minor saddle adjustments. At that price it was worth a try.

    Springy Pickup Question ...

Hi, just wondering what factory apllied the stamps to the pickups. if the stamps were put on by dimarzio then this pic shows that the u pups were dimarzio also, since this pup has both e and u stamps with the u stamped over the e if you can see it.. if put on by tokai then its just a mix up at...

TST-62 Pics to share and Introduction

I installed a set of gfs 70's overwound grey bottom pups. The tone isn't as bright as the e's, it's more crunchy, like joe perry's sound on mama kin or most early aerosmith tunes. All arbitrary due to different amps and pedals we all use. i like the tone of texas specials and such but was...

TST-62 Pics to share and Introduction

Marcus, thanks. it still sounds sweet after 38 years. it has it's share of cig burns and such. Older than the gen x guys I play with. She sure is pretty in my eyes although she's a little weight challenged. Rick

TST-62 Pics to share and Introduction

Greg, Here is a pic of mine. it's a 1983 or thereabout, The headstock decal was missing when I got it, you could still see the spagetti style outline. I have since replaced it w/ a newer decal so people wouid stop asking me what make it was. Not "mint" but she plays real nice. I replaced the e...

TST-62 Pics to share and Introduction

Greg, Hi,welcome. Sweet tst-62. Nice neck. I have it's sister and wouldn't part with it. These are great players and are undervalued Tokais since most collectors are seeking goldies and springys. Enjoy. Rick

    e stamped pickups

Magnus, Hi, the pickups still haven't let me down yet. I've been playing through an old Kustom t&r 2x10" combo amp w/ an EH engish muffin tube pedal and a cheap fender distortion box. I can try to describe the sound. Some people describe it as a dying otter calling for it's mother, but they...

    e stamped pickups

Well, it looks like another unsolved Tokai mystery to me. Maybe I should contact Gerald Rivera. These pups have been placed in temporary retirement and have been replaced by a set of GFS grey bottom 70's overwound pups. Played them last night at practice and they sound sweet. A little more...

    e stamped pickups

Marcus, The other pickups are E stamped and as far as I can tell the poles are basically the same except for a small difference in height from one another. If they are staggered they don't have the same pattern. The U-E stamped mid pickup has been resoldered and has had the wires extended a...

    e stamped pickups

Mike, Hi, I was afraid someone would ask for pics and being a lame pc user I hope these downloaded. If you look close you can see the E stamp behind the U stamp. The camera doesn't pick it up as good as the naked eye. Thanks for your time and expertise. Rick
