    Help rare Tokai Goldstar Sound

Hi all, I have one of these, exactly the same but a lower serial number.Cracking guitar. Has a two piece body, Final Pro Spec saddles and Kluson style machines without the Deluxe stamp (same as my 1990 flying V). I agree that the routing is not typical to an 80's Goldstar but the single coil...

    Loose fitting tune-o-matic?

My comments are not intended to offend or tell someone what they should do with their guitars. The word "don't" was obviously the wrong word to use. I was under the impression that the point of a forum was to reply to another's question with an opinion that may or may not be considered by the...

    Loose fitting tune-o-matic?

I think that what your experiencing with your tail piece has nothing to do with the studs or posts. The tension of the strings will take up any slack in the studs by forcing the posts forwards slightly. The main problem with loose posts is the loss of tone. My suggestion is look at the saddles...

    refretting tokai goldstar, fret suggestions?

Stew Mac 0148 is best for Goldies ,Breezies and Cats Eyes , 0149 best for Super / Custom Editions .Both are very slightly higher than Tokai standard wire but you'll be able to dress the frets more times before its next refret. If your neck is a 1piece maple I'd give it to your tech as you could...
