Dry Z pickup Set sales for 129,000 yen = $1,172 USD

Ha, I would love to think so but I doubt I would be that lucky. I'll assume it's the normal stuff and then I won't be disappointed

Dry Z pickup Set sales for 129,000 yen = $1,172 USD

Crikey, that's more than I paid for my 1980 SA1200

Dry Z pickup Set sales for 129,000 yen = $1,172 USD

Curious how you know, doesn't really look any different from my SA1200

    Greco SA1200 video

Well..... Guitar playing acquaintance is probably closer as we only met as a result of his YouTube channel, but he only lives an hour away and we often meet up half way for a coffee and swap of gear. He's had a few of my guitars, a dozen or so pedals and my Cornford amp on his channel over the...

Dry Z pickup Set sales for 129,000 yen = $1,172 USD

I've only just come across this video. Here the tone twins shoot out a Dry Z with a genuine PAF. The tone twins have links with Chris Buck but this dry Z doesn't have anything to do with him having been loaned by Simon Howells https://youtu.be/gpa-Gt1M_HE Here's a picture of it without the...

Dry Z pickup Set sales for 129,000 yen = $1,172 USD

For reference, Chris Buck bought a EGF1200 last year that had only the neck pickup dry Z remaining. https://youtu.be/OLlOu-Dk1Ac Here's a picture of the base with the distorted Z stamp https://youtu.be/sigF2ICbZA4 I haven't seen any pictures of it without it's cover but the serial number is...

    Greco SA1200 video

I just leant my SA1200 to a mate who does YouTube videos. I thought he'd like it but not consider it much different from all the other guitars he's played. I was wrong. He loved it. https://youtu.be/EukK0KyBrx0

Dry Z pickup Set sales for 129,000 yen = $1,172 USD

Sorry for the long delay in replying. I don't check this site very often these days and have no alerts for when someone replies to a thread. I have no idea what guitar they were taken from as they were sold (by villager) as a stand alone set. This was back in around 2007 (I think, I'm getting...

Dry Z pickup Set sales for 129,000 yen = $1,172 USD

It does seem a plausible explanation. I did come across another picture of a set of pickups with three holes that claimed to be Dry Zs whilst searching google images. Had to go through a lot of pictures to find it and there was no real information when I went to the actual site so take of that...

Dry Z pickup Set sales for 129,000 yen = $1,172 USD

Here's the neck pickup from my set Like I said I bought this set 10 years ago from a Japanese guitar dealer. I've never had reason before to think they were anything but genuine. I have an all original SA-1200 also fitted with dry z and these ones are certainly comparable

Dry Z pickup Set sales for 129,000 yen = $1,172 USD

I'll see if I can remember to have a go pulling a pickup tonight.

Dry Z pickup Set sales for 129,000 yen = $1,172 USD

I'll see if I have any time over the weekend to pull one of the pickups and see what's on there. When did this three hole thing not being dry Zs come about? I don't remember it ever being discussed when I was more active on here 10 years ago, and I can't find any discussions on it searching...

Dry Z pickup Set sales for 129,000 yen = $1,172 USD

Can I just jump into this thread with my example of a set of Dry Z (or not). I bought a set 10 years ago from a well known Japanese guitar dealer on this site. They look identical to the ones posted by Wulfman in post 2 with the two round holes and the third square hole at the edge. They also...

Greco Dry / Screamin pickup identification help

I actually have a set of DRY Zs from Villager. Don't have any experience with modern high end humbuckers for comparison but I will say they are exactly what I was hoping for. They are in my '87 burny at the moment. It didn't sound too bad before but its better now. So hard to subjectively...

Burny 'Super Grade' - solid tops

Btmish; I was keeping a close eye on that burny from vaporman too. Looked real nice but I had a hard time believing his info that it was nitro, brazillian fret board, flg100 (not sure there is an flg100) etc...I did send some questions and he was quite defensive, though provided more...

    Burny VH-1 Pickup (observations)

I'm surprised to hear that they are ceramic magnets. I think the later 80s VH1s weren't quite the same as the original mid 80s VH1, which was an expensive aftermarket option and fitted to the high end models (so I hear). so maybe that's where the change was made. I do find that the neck...

Burny Super Grade on its way - what upgrades?

Please tell us what its like when you get the chance. I would of been tempted to bid on it myself If I hadn't just bought a spur of the moment guitar from villager.
