For sale locally is a 2009 MIJ Loverock MODEL LS5. The seller says its based on the LS100Q with factory installed Tom Holmes pickups. The headstock is badged "pacific exclusive" and is supposed to be one of only 12 made. Is anyone familiar with this model?

I have read on the net that there are many fake MIK Tokai's or Canadian Fakai's. I guess my question is this. Why would anyone go to the trouble to counterfit a $300 guitar? Logic would tell you that they would copy the upper end Japanese models to make $$$. I can understand faking a $7000...
