High Quality Tokai 335 with block inlays?

What country are you in, there's bound to be a Tokai specialist who can help you out. I know a little about the different models but nowhere near as much as a lot of the other forum members.

High Quality Tokai 335 with block inlays?

Hi, You are after an ES135. I have just sold my tobacco sunburst one and I have to say it was the best semi I've ever played. I only got rid of it as I wanted another Love Rock and had to cull the collection a little. I heartily recommend it. They also do it in cherry if you don't fancy tobacco...

    ES-135

Well, mine is certainly not a chunky 50s neck like on my Love Rock, but it is still a little rounder than a 60s slim taper. Somewhere in between I'd say but leaning towards the slim taper. What I can say for sure is that it is really comfy. I've got average sized hands and it just feels superb...

    ES-135

That's the one, it was ?799 including a killer case. The set-up and fret work were great straight out of the box, can't fault it really, though I feel there may be even more tonal loveliness in there with some different pickups, but the stock ones are more than fine for now.

    Valve combo

One of the Laney VC series will get you closae to the sound you're after. The VC15 sounds great with the Jensen 10" speaker and 'cos of its low power you can wind it up high to really get the output tubes working. Plenty of volume for a jam night or small pub gigs (I've done loads of gigs with...

    ES-135

I've just got one of these from Richtone in Tobacco Sunburst, and I have to say it's a fantastic guitar that plays beautifully and sounds awesome. If you are thinking about getting one I heartily recommend that you go for it, I can't imagine that you'd be dissapointed, and if you get one from...

Tokai SG 75 hardshell case recommendations???

Hi, Dunno if this will help, but I just got a USG 75 from Richtone Music UK and the Tokai case I got at the same time fits perfectly. If you can track down the same case it'll do the job perfectly. Maybe email Richtone for a model number.

Where can I order a Tokai/Edwards from APART from Ishibashi?

Sounds like a smart guitar at a good price. The MOST important thing is that you'll get THE guitar you want. Look forward to seeing some pics when it arrives.

Where can I order a Tokai/Edwards from APART from Ishibashi?

For the sake of saving ?50 I'd just get it, trust me, you only want one bad experience with customs delays, import duty, hidden shipping charges etc to make it worth while. I seem to remember that Richtone had some specials at good prices and they have good aftersales too. If you were saving a...

Tokai TJ Junior for sale UK only

Hi, Gonna be selling my well used but rather good TV yellow TJ junior (2001) on ebay starting tomorrow night (28/4/7). It comes with a case and I'm starting it at ?299. It's listed in the Tokai electric section. I know they don't surface very often (took me long enough to get one), and I'd like...

    Doh! Ding Repair Advice Needed...

I think Fartoomany has the best idea. Carefuly apply a little (very little) super glue to set any loose bits and then build up the finish with several thin layers of nail varnish. Once the finish is built up polish it using very fine wet and dry and finish with T Cut or similar. The key to this...

Wanted: Small valve amp 1-10W eg Fender champ

Epiphone valve junior is a great buy, but make sure you get one of the recent ones as some of the early ones had background noise problems. I think the new ones have two pinstripes on the control panel and early ones had three, but that might be the wrong way round. Brilliant sound though and...

    Which amp for your tokai???

I use my LR with a Laney VC15 (10" Jenson speaker) tube amp. Great little amp with a brilliant sound. I tend to use just the guitars volume controls to go from clean-crunch-solo and the Laney is perfect for it. It needs an extension cab (2x10) for gigs, but because of the low power rating you...

    change pickups ES120

If you're not sure about whether you can do it, that last bit of advice was the best you will get! Find a repair man you trust and get them to do it. It shouldn't be that expensive if you are providing the parts.

    change pickups ES120

It's tricky to do, but not that bad. Most people worry about how to refit all the pots after soldering. Here are a few tips that I have picked up over the years. Before you remove any of the pots, first tie a piece of thread (or dental floss) to each one (after removing the control knobs...

How many of you replaced Pickups ?

Actually, if you want to know what it sounds like with the Phat Cats, go to www.myspace.com/shaveruk and click on the song Wanted. There is cleanish, crunch and lead sounds, and I use all 3 pickup settings at various points in the song, all done off the volume control. The amp was a Fender Blues...

How many of you replaced Pickups ?

Yeah, thay are humbucker size, and they come in nickel or gold covers. Also worth looking into are the Mississippe Queen 'bucker sized P90s made by BareKnuckle. I've not used them but my experience with all other BK pickups has been really good. A bit pricier though. Another thing worth...

How many of you replaced Pickups ?

I replaced the stock pickups in my LS65 with Seymour Duncan Phat Cat P90s. Fantastic sound. Plenty of bite but never harsh, and bags of grunt without getting woolly. The middle setting is hum-cancelling. They are not wound that hot according to the spec sheet but still push the front end of the...
