try john galup at dawgtown pick ups also on ebay . handwound and super quality .and he is a nice guy too .

no fakai looks like one of the ones made for canadian market by dillion bolt on neck poor quality tuners and hardware (they also did blue 335 style )

if you look at the amount of wood showing on the fretboard to headstock side behind the nut .on a lam board there is very little and it generaly curves. whereas on a slab board it is straighter and wider

it is when you go for a lighter gauge of sting that the buzz usually starts to happen ,as the slots on the nut are too wide & the tension on the neck /truss rod is less . thus allowing less of a requied relef to the neck. But as previous post said it could be a high fret . a good luthier will...

usually buzz up to th 7th fret is due to the nut being cut too low from the 7th onward its usually the bridge end .have you changed to a lighter gauge of string ?

the neck had been set up to play right handed .so if you have swapped the nut around you will need to change it back .

preference is for a tokai ( lam) as its for rob and he really likes the neck on me goldstar but wishes it was a lefty . why iain what have you got ?

hi a friend of mine has a mint condition left handed all maple neck from a 1980s goldstar , and is after a rosewood( lam /not slab board ) condition of frets are not an issue as a re fret is likely ,but neck its self must be in good order . can post photos if required .
