I know Ibanez used them in the 2375, Challenger & Silver Series Strat clones (~1973-~1978). Greco also used them (maybe during different years). Someone else said that they were made by Maxon, which makes perfect sense to me. Anyway, I'm looking for one middle position 'Excel' pickup. Does...

btw...at the studio, I tried the guitar in many different amps...same deal. Of course, the lighting & other environmental conditions could have been involved.

When touching the strings (ie: grounding), there is less noise. I tried turning off the lights, etc and it made no difference. Thanks.

Everything looks ok inside. It sounds real nice on my Roland JC-120 (solid state). There's more noise on my Mesa (tube) amp.
