    Date my Greco

As Homer pointed out, it's a pre-1976 model. That time, they where all made in Japan. The lower models like EG480 have a semi holow body, these years even with a bolted neck. Yours is massive as far as I can see, so it's at least a EG700. From EG800 on, the hardware would be golden, also the...

    1984 LS100 ???

You can use e.g. buyee.com: (I think there are one or two more sites like buyee which also forward the item to you for some commission) https://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/r1063056272 Just exchange the auction no. with the one from the link here...

    VH-1 Pickups

Hi Void, I'm not an expert, so this is more a question than a determination. I thought pots with a wide line spacing are from the 70 to mid 80s. So I would date these to 1981 instead of 1991. The line spacing is much smaller at your 1987 RLG-90, matching to what I've seen so far (small line...

    Explorer type EXD 120

Nice! There is also a greenish one: https://reverb.com/item/19284556-tokai-fsd120

    Explorer type EXD 120

No, I don't have these covers. As I understand now, the differenz between the P1-11BZ and the P1-14BZ 's is the splitted coil. The 120's have the coil splitting and one push-pull pot to switch.

    Greco Explorer non catalog model

The scyamore EX's are all veneer I think. This is basically a copy of the the Hamer Explorers and these are also veneer as far as I know.

    Greco Explorer non catalog model

I found an EX90 in the 1991 catalog, but not the scyamore top anymore. So I wouldn't think it's from the 90s.

    Greco Explorer non catalog model

I meant the line spacing, not the vertical lines after the date code.

    Greco Explorer non catalog model

OK, this is mixed. The two on the right have a small line spacing, while the upper left is more like I thought it's from the 80s.

Thanks, I love it too :)

    Greco Explorer non catalog model

Two pots are 23 K and one 27 K. It doesn't look like they are exchanged, but who knows. The pots from the early 90s have the two lines closer together, the 504XXX is much lower, at least the ones I have seen so far.

    Greco Explorer non catalog model

Hi all, I would like some more information about my new Greco, imported from Japan. The serial number dates it to 1985, but pot dates are 1982. Assuming it's made 1985 makes it a EX80 instead of EX800, just because Greco adapted the numbering scheme from Tokai. But then it's optically a kind...

    1980. Greco ID

There are people here with more knowledge then me, but what I can say is it should be an 1980 EG600PB or EG800PB. The differences are mainly the pickups (U-1000 vs. U2000) and a 3pc. vs. a 2pc. mahagony back.

    Further Greco LP Info

I found this interesting thread, quite some years old: https://www.mylespaul.com/threads/greco-1979-1990s-serial-ranges.157307/ Not sure if everything is evident there, but it seems that most of the Super Real's already in 1979 have the 5-digit serial numbers, but, as always with the old...

    Tokai "Flying Dragon" Logo

It's shown for the FSD120 in the 1984 catalogue from Japan. But no pic for the EXD120.

    Explorer type EXD 120

Hi all. I'm quite new in the forum but followed already quite a while. So here is my first thread, introducing the Explorer variant EXD 120. I think it's pretty rare, I found it only in one catalog so far, 1984 from Japan, and there is not even a pic, just mentioned in the text. I imported it...

    NGD - FV 80 (Flying V)

Stunning guitar. Thanks for working this out. There is almost nothing to find about the pickips and the difference between the P1-11BZ and the P1-14BZ. I have an EXD-120 which I imported from Japan. Same wiring I think.
