Does anyone know if Tokai or any of the other great Japanese brands makes an Epiphone Casino/Gibson ES-330 copy? Thanks.

    ES-120 finish problems

Welcome to the world of nitro finishes! But don't sweat it. One year doesn't seem like much time, but considering the variation in temperature and especially humidity between Korea and Canada, no big surprise.

    ES120

I'm sure you'll be happy. I had a friend pick one up for me last fall in Japan, I also play a Strat (MIM 70s RI), and have been looking closely at the Epi Elitist Jumbo acoustics. I've found my ES-120 to be about equal to most Gibson Custom shop guitars I've played, and all the Gibson 335 tone...

    Tokai ES-120 v. Gib. Standard ES-335 v. Gibson Historic 335

Nice looking guitar! A dead ringer for my ES-120.[/img]

    Tokai ES-120 v. Gib. Standard ES-335 v. Gibson Historic 335

Not so much a "which is better" post. I'm just trying to sort out the difference between them. How would you describe an es-120 compared to the Gibson counterparts. Particularly for me, which gibson is the es-120 based on? Neck thickness & shape? PU tones?

Questions for tokai LS-75S/80S Gold Top owners

I had one of these guitars at my house for about eight months last year, and wouldn't change a thing. A friend let me hold it for him until my Tokai ES-120 arrived, and I completely fell in love with it, possibly next on my list. The pickups work very, very well in that guitar.

    ES-120 Owners!! Help needed!!

Korea does not make an ES-120, to the best of my knowledge. In Tokai speak, the 120 designation means 120,000 Yen, and I doubt that the Korean guitars are fetching that much. The Korean "335" is the ES-60.

Tokai P90 Love Rock owners (LS80S) -> Pickup upgrade?

Gibson also made a Les Paul Studio Gem series with p-90s in the mid-late 1990s. Odd colors (Emrald, Ruby, etc), but tempting guitars for those who can't afford a Gibson '56 RI but still want a p-90 LP with GIBSON on the headstock.

Tokai P90 Love Rock owners (LS80S) -> Pickup upgrade?

I had one at my house for almost a year. I wouldn't change a single thing, the guitar struck me as perfect straight from the factory. The quality of the goldtop gave me enough confidence in Tokai to have buddy pick me up an ES-120 when he was in Japan last fall, sight unseen. And that turned...
