    2 piece neck ? LS-80 in 1978

    A recent case in Japanese auction showed an interesting note, 2 piece neck (center matching)" with "80" stamp below 22nd fret. I have not heard of such 2 piece construction for LS-80 in '78. Did it exist ?? I post a pic, but it does not show it well.
