CAR Springy Sound 1980 for sale

Back again. The buyer never answered, and another had financial problems and couldn't afford the guitar. Here's some stuff then: These two are older, taken by the previous owner, and they're big enough to stretch the page and make it ugly...

CAR Springy Sound 1980 for sale

Oh, I've got pictures, the reason I haven't posted any is that a person is interested in buying the guitar. If something happens though, I'll be posting them here.

    '80 ST80

That looks JUST like my Tokai '80 (serial begins with 0) St-80! It also has a C neck, and no model number in the end of the fretboard. It's a great guitar too. Mine is Candy Apple Red though.

What Springy Sound could this be?

I'm a bit scared of sending this guitar so far away, but I just might if the LS is pretty. Can you give me pictures of the LS first and I'll consider it?

    Tokai Springy Sound ST-80 '78-'80

Oh, that much? It's been refretted with jumbo's and one pot has been changed (I still have the original though, I think it still works). Does that affect the price very much? Also the plastic parts have been changed, the pickguard and the backplate are missing, but I've still got the pickup...

What Springy Sound could this be?

Then Sen-ash maybe? Since my Springy is much, much heavier than my friends TST-50 '84 Goldstar. I've even played a few Loverocks that are lighter than my Springy :o Is 900? still steep for this? I just feel silly having this guitar, because I don't play it very much. It's still the best Strat...

What Springy Sound could this be?

Yeah, it was too high, I've lowered it to 900? already (and of course I'm ready to drop it) The body could've been changed, is there any way I could find out if that's true? It's ash I guess, since it's heavy, and the grain also matches.

What Springy Sound could this be?

Could this actually be a special order, since CAR wasn't made back in 1980? That could explain why the pickups don't have anything written in them, and why there's no model number in the fingerboard. The guitar does still have the x=x stamp (can't remember the numbers) in the neck etc. as it's...

What Springy Sound could this be?

Hi! A bump after a long long time. I've decided I'm going to sell it, as I realized I'm more into Tele's and LP's and stuff like that. Mainly I'm uncomfortable with the small nut (I've got long fingers) and the small, round radius on the fretboard. So how much would be a good price for this...

What Springy Sound could this be?

I checked under the pickups, and there was nothing written in them. Now I'm surprised.

What Springy Sound could this be?

Oh yeah, sorry that I haven't written anything, been too busy playing that guitar :) So, the knobs and pickup covers have been changed, the originals were black (and btw, came with the guitar). The pickguard has also been changed, dunno why, and the previous owner had lost the original...

I got the guitar today, and I must say that it is great. The neck feels just right, and the guitar sounds great. The frets are in excellent condition too (dunno if they have been replaced). I'm planning to look what's in the pickups' base next weekend.

The neckplate says 0013024, and there also is the text "Tokai" on every tuner and "Tokai" in every tailpiece.

What strings do you use on your Tokai?

I haven't got a Tokai at the moment (sold mine yesterday), but I think it came with 009-042 strings when I bought it. Then I used 010-046 and tried 009-046 once, then moved back to 010-046. After that I moved to 011-050, tried 011-048 and moved back to 011-050 (and used them until I sold it)...

    String Gauge

Currently Dr 0.11-0.50 in my Loverock, standard E tuning. In my Ibanez jpm, Ernie Ball 0.11-0.48, Eb tuning. I had only 3 old springs in the trem so when I tried to tune it to E, the bridge would not go straight, so I'll have to put new springs to it, so there will be 4. I think I'll try...

Best Strings for a Les Paul copy

I've been using DR 0.11-0.50 in my Tokai Loverock since summer, and I really like them. The sound lasts longer than in for example D'addarios (which I think are the worst, except the "pro arte" nylon strings) so they don't need to be changed so often. I also like the purple Ernie Balls...
