'81 ST80 1 piece body

Nice pair of guitars! Is it just me, or maybe the picture is taken at just the right angle, but is the angle of the R0 headstock off kilter with the neck?

I believe it sits in Outbox until they actually open it.

I'm not much of an acoustic player (yet) but I've been wanting to find a decent one for the collection that I can start playing more. Just saw this one come up for sale and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me more about this guitar...

I know nothing about Tokai acoustics, it looks fairly decent. You think it is one of the Fakais? The seller is apparently 75 and doesn't play anymore so moving some guitars. Been keeping an eye out for an older acoustic, thought this could be a decent one, but I certainly don't want a fake.

Can anyone tell me more info about this guitar? I can't find anything on the internet. I found someone selling one, the add says it's from the 1960's. Do you think this is true?

I'd have to say it is this recent one: '81 1 piece ST80 This thing is just a beauty. Best strat I've ever played, it just sounds and plays so good!

Ibanez SV5470 about 7 or 8 years ago. It has since moved on and the Tokai collection is growing.

Good info, thanks Peter. I have a 1980 ST80 in my possession as well and the neck plates do seem slightly different dimensions. The guitar in question is on the right, the other on the left. I didn't measure them and I'm not sure if this picture is close enough to really tell, but the 1980...

Thanks! Got lucky with this one! As I’m sure you know, old Tokai like this don’t show up in the Canadian used market very often. I think the price was VERY good too looking at the condition and how rare it might be as a 1 piece ST80.

Little update. Officially bought it today. It's still across the country, my buddy picked it up today. Hope to have it sometime this weekend, it has to travel back with a different friend. He's not a guitar guy but he sent me a few quick pics. Looks like it's an 81 according to the serial...
