Pics of my Candy Apple Red Goldie

Just took this apart to record the innards for all those interested. I think Tokai call this colour Metallic Red, but it will always be Candy Apple Red for me!

Will definitely get round to that - if I can find room to set them up and a wide enough lens angle! Just in the process of dismantling and fret dressing them (those that need it)all one by one while taking detailed pics. I've just posted a set of pics of a lovely met blue Goldstar today. Should have...

Hey Jonah, As you say it's a lovely guitar - definitely a keeper. For me, collecting them is to make sure they are loved and played.

Pics of Metallic Blue Goldstar ST-50

Hi all,

For those of you requesting some more pics, here they are. This is my lovely condition Met Blue Goldstar. I haven't seen many this colour. All the innards look Kosher and the Body/Neck stamps match.

Lol Jonah - thanks for that!

For those of you wondering what happened, this is EXACTLY the same guitar. I bought it from Jonah off ebay!

The logo was definitely a script goldstar one, and was all but rubbed off.

I reinstated it with a new decal without the need for any lacquer work.

Hi Ian, I'm guessing there's a lot of variation with colour just from the camera white balance. In real life, the colour is much less red. It also seems that this guitar must have spend much of its life in a case (sadly, it didn't come with one) because it appears so mint - I have never seen such an...

Thanks Pete and Gabe. There is no seam, so it's a one piece neck.

So I'm assuming the 90's ST 50+ models didn't have brass plates? If so then Gabe's conclusion seems the most credible.

Strat Saddles question:

Just following up on a recent post mentioning "Tokai" versus "Final Prospec" saddles: Is there a consensus on this subject regarding dates? I get the impression that the general feeling is that the "Tokai" saddles are very early, and that the post-1983 script logo strats would only have "Final Prosp...

Mint '83 Springy in Flamingo

Hi, To all of those asking for some pictures of the collection, here is my mint '83 springy. This guitar has simply not been played. the only signs of play are some barely visible scratch plate marks! http://s1356.beta.photobucket.com/user/sb-1969/library/Flamingo%2083%20Springy I'm assuming this is...
