Looks OK to me. Brass plate and innards are correct. The only anomaly is the neck plate.

Bridge and tuners don't look right for 1980's MIJ. Pickups look similar to 80's ST-40, but electrics don't match anything I've seen. The L series S/N is confusing. Truss rod plug is wrong colour and shape for 80's. Don't remember seeing headstock decals like this. Neck heel stamp suggests Tokai auth...

Should look something like this (where this is an ST-55) https://www.google.de/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjisb-WkdjSAhXQhRoKHXCBCs8QjRwIBw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fforum.japanaxe.com%2FphpBB3%2Fviewtopic.php%3Ft%3D546&psig=AFQjCNG6RHKKFKdaOsFEQvIIHvSfj3Etkw&ust=1489...

This is a lovely completely original 1980 Silver Star. There will be a stamp on the last fret of the fretboard indicating the model number.

Probably a nitro test on the neck would reveal if it was a higher end model. The code on the body will only reveal the original colour and if it matches the neck.

The electrics would certainly have helped in determining the model, and to some extent the date.

I'm still not convinced it's a Tokai body because the routings look a little different to me. If it is Tokai body (there's not enough detail in the pics to go on) then it's definitely pre-'86. No chance of determining date on the neck if the decals are gone, other than it's later than '82, given the...

Body routings do not match anything Tokai I've seen (wire routing) even taking into account it coud have been modded in the bridge and neck positions. Neck plate is not Tokai, I would suggest it belongs to the body. Bridge and trem block are not Tokai. Neck is Tokai. Top E tuner is Tokai, others loo...

The body routings are correct for year, but it was originally Golden Sunburst so it's a refinish job. The neck may or may not have come from an ST-85 (Natural finish). There should be an "85" stamp on the fingerboard at the last fret if this is the case. If it bears an "85" stamp, then the neck does...

Very nice. It's looks to be an ST-60 (E Pickups and 60 sticker). It's not an '82., otherwise it would be a springy. '83 was the transition point from Springy to Goldstar, but the 83's had block logos (except in Australia). Most likely 84-85, since that's before they dispensed with the brass control ...

Neck is completely legit with Deluxe tuners. I can't see the body stamps but routing is correct for pre-'85. It has replacement electrics and bridge. If it is nitro, it would be worthy of restoring with E pickup assembly, and would probably be an ST-80 if it is 2 piece. Nitro has a habit of 'sinking...
