Guess a lot of it is luck of the draw with them as to how well the nut's been cut and intonation set up originally as to how it'll perform. A mate of mine's looking at one of the newer SG's mainly so he can qickly switch tunings live. Usually just hear stories about how they unbalance the neck, how'...

Wow, an offer of 900 euros for a K Orville, I'm surprised he hasn't snapped the buyers hand off to accept that offer asap. Those aren't worth anywhere near that. You can pick up Orville By Gibson's all day long on Yahoo Japan at those prices , keep an eye out for the JApanese Epiphones too as they'r...

Can usually pick up the Japanese pedals for peanuts on Yahoo Japan, I've bought a few now and even with shipping they've been cheaper than eBay. Usually get extras and flip on eBay to cover the costs. Had some decent boss stuff and mxr's cheap only around 3000 yen. Tmd for a measly 3k http://page18....

K serial Orville not worth driving 2 hours for IMO, but like most things it all depends in the price. They're considered the lowest models in the Orville range, Allen key truss rod , scarf neck joint etc they were the budget models against the better spec'd Orville by Gibson's at the time.

Dry Z pups

Was surprised this Dry Z pup went as low as 15K, thought these were supposed to have mythical properties. The price it went went seemed cheap compared to any new half decent pup you'd buy. Looks like it's been split and the wires short, any other reasons it went reasonably low. http://page4.auctions...

Finally turned up, gotta say it'sa real beauty of a guitar looks so much better in real life than the photos and in almost mint condition. Seller also put in new strings which is a nice touch considering how little it went for Feels light too , which is a bonus after playing 10lb LP's. Have to do so...

Has anyone tried the fluorescence tests on their suspected woods? It's supposed to be very reliable and easy to do, a utility knife to scrape a minute amount off the board is probably all that's needed along with a blacklight. May even work by comparing the fluorescence of a water wet swab against a...

1978 EGC1000

Had this on my watchlist but missed the end of the auction as I thought it'd go a bit higher than I fancied paying. Just seen it sold for a pittance at 58.5K!!! Some rinkya buyer has got a bargain on that. http://auctions.c.yimg.jp/images.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/image/ra233/users/7/2/6/6/p20093067-img4...

Nice looker, I missed out on a blond one with a case a couple of months ago when I first started looking for them, went for a measley 38.K :( Did you switch the bridge to an abr or did it come like that? Good to know they drop in cos those Yamaha bridges seem to be quite expensive to replace and rec...

I was actually looking to pick up the SF1000 but kept missing out on the auctions , they don't come up too often. Missed out on a couple around 40k on YJ cos i hadn't set up sniper bids and missd them. This went too cheap to pass at around 220 usd so thought it'll give me an idea if the sf1000 is wo...

Yamaha Super Flighters

Anyone had one of these? Managed to pick up a SF700 on YJ for 27.5K a while back and hopefully should arrive within a week or so. Always thought the Yamaha stuff is quite overlooked in the MIJ world but the SL1000 I had was a well made and specc'd guitar so thought I'd give some of the other models ...

Yes a few of the Orville models used ebony, LPC85 Basically your bog standard orville LPC but ebony board, 57B was their top of the range Custom again ebony board, nibs 57 classic pups - only let down on those is this cheap plastic inlays, otherwise they're hard to fault. The Orville Joe Perry studi...

Anyne bought from From Japan?

And do you know if they'll stick a guitar and a case that have been bought separatly together.

Their packaging is usually pretty poor and lots of cheap cases on YJ but don't want to buy one if they'll pack them separatly. I've messaged them but they usually take forever if theyeven reply.
