Hard to say without pictures but Id guess a RLC58 would be a chinese made Burny. The price is usually quoted in the model number and even in the early nineties the Japanese made ones were RLC70's (70,000 yen) I dont think they'd made any cheaper ones in Japan, the chinese made ones with the 3 screw ...

That's really cool, I don't have one but I wish I did. Would you mind sharing a few things about it? Like weight, neck profile, balance , playability, pickups etc I've been keeping an eye out for one of those and a V as well. They seem to be quite rare. 8) http://www.tokaiforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=...

I've a stock JS55 Greco and it also has the alternate gold and silver polepieces. The JS98K, PC98K and EGC95K all came fitted with Dry 1982 pups so I'd be surprsied if it has Dry Z's and even more surprised if someone went to the trouble of switching the dry z polepieces too. Only difference between...

Korean Cort made Greco, the tokai made ones have a thinner 'Greco' logo, Mint collection truss rod covers, less ageing on the headstock/binding,tulip style tuning pegs and didn't use the pretend ebony fret boards. The best way to tell if you're unsure is to look in the neck pickup cavity, usually th...

Should consider getting one direct from Japan vi digimart or YJ etc, they regulary sell for less than half that 1500 euros at source, plus they're not that rare in Japan. Here's one that sold a little while back for a bargain 50,000 yen, obviously not mint but a 57B for around 400 euros has got to b...

I think there's a few of us on the hunt for one of those :)

I've an Epi LPC90 I picked up for peanuts that I keep thinking of converting to P90's cos 54's are rare as hens teeth.

I'd misread the one piece mahagony neck as back, bloody text is too small on these pics :)

Yep both the JS 98K and PC 98K are legitimate Greco models , both look to have the same specs. Guess Greco thought they'd get more sales appealing doing two signature models even though neither players are associated with or seem to have played a Kahler equipped black LPC :) Looks like they had the ...

Looks like they've changed the caps but if those pots are original you can date it by those, not clear enough in the photos to see. The first line should read something like M500K and the second line 74 K. The first number refers to the year i.e 7 =1987 second number is the month 4=April, month coul...

Pics would help, but from what you say it's sounds japanese and 80's. Why do you think 87 ? I think they started to use the 'xmas' tree style truss rod cover in 87. If the hardware is original you can date it from the pot codes, otherwise shots of the routing in the cavities can be used to identify ...

Nice one, be sure to post a load of pics. I've always wanted a Fuji DC junior to compare to my Terada ObG DC. From what I've seen on the net it's always the single cut juniors that have the thicker necks rather than the DC ones which seems to be in general described as slim. http://www.mylespaul.com...

They're basically a continuation of the plain Orvilles just rebadged fuji made Orvilles. Build wise I doubt , other than fancy tops, there isn't much difference between the orvilles and obg's other than hardware and thinner 'ntiro' finish. I've had quite a few MIJ epi's and other than the pups can't...

Hard to say for sure as I'd seen lots of conflicting statements about the fuji neck sizes. The Terada's I've had would all be classed on the slim side I'd say whereas all the fuji Orvilles/MIJ Epi's have been slightly fatter but apart from my 57B, which is supposed to have a fat neck, none have been...

Looks like one on the early seventies Burny FTVs to me, the logo was just silk screened and they're a copy of the specials. Never seen a fake one yet as I'd imagine they'd cost more to fake than they probably sell for tbh. From the look of the tuners that's one of the bolt on neck FTV50's, the FTV90...
