Imported to Canada by a gentleman who also distributed Dillion and Hagstrom, they were sold at Guitar Shack which used to be at Dufferin and Centre Streets but has moved.

They are not Tokai guitars but as you've noticed they aren't too bad...

Re: Greco SG

So many views and no replies, either super rare or coveted by their owners. Still seriously looking with funds ready and waiting! I think it's both, I spent quite a few years looking for one in Toronto, finally found a 1984 Tokai but had to pay large for it... haven't seen another good one since an...

I spoke with this guy and that's a very nice guitar which is now really at such a fair price I can't believe it's still for sale. 1980 still had the fretboard stamp, to me that one looks like an '81 ST60 - MMR as in the bottom left corner of this catalog page; http://brochures.yokochou.com/guitar-an...

Looks like an '84 TTE 50 exactly like one I have... but to be sure pictures of the cavities, neck pocket, pick ups and electrics will bring the answers you look for (in time), without pics maybe not, we'll see.

WTB early 80's Tokai LP Custom

Pretty much like the title says, I'd like to buy an early 80's Tokai LP Custom, wine red or black, original condition would also be nice, thanks, Jim.

Good point, does it also explain the saddles, did they drop final pro spec in '84?

AFAIK there's no correlation between the Strat serial numbers and the year, but Goldstar's with that headstock were available for a short time, as the saddles are marked Tokai and not Final Pro Spec I think it may be a late '83 or early '84. Hopefully one of the experts will chime in on this but a G...

From a close look at the headstock and the partially non-existent decal, it looks like a 1984 Goldstar.
