No neck binding, from the pic it looks to have a volute, color of the neck is wrong, tuners are definitely not tokai.., knobs/bridge/pickguard are all wrong..F-holes look wrong to me but could be the picture. Not an es100 or someone replaced the neck and all hardware. Think you should change your ad...

tokai te-150

Thinking of selling my 1980 tokai te-150. I probably will regret selling it but i don't get along with V necks, and i just like es-100's more. Combine that with a newborn, and this guitar hardly leaves it's case. It's a te-80 with a parsons B-bender, probably one of the very first made by tokai. Ver...

brass nuts

Does anyone know on which models and what years a brass nut was used,
or was this optional?
Been looking around but not much info on this.

what did i just buy?

wanted a jb, i have a 1980 pb60 that i love. This one has the 4 screw tuners, 2 piece body so i guess jb60? L1 serial i think, so that's 82? http://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/q123616751 https://box.yahoo.co.jp/guest/viewer?sid=box-l-tvslwd26kdvttpfvhrlfjk3zsy-1001&uniqid=0bdd49d2-4bdc-43a2-9eec-b9b...

you misunderstood.. i have 3 but they are not going anywhere. The knobs aren't original, i believe they all came with the amber ones. But cherry ones do look better with the black bell knobs so who cares

if the serial starts with 81, it's an 81. My sunburst one is an 81 without the 'special' headstock, my cherry one is an 81 with the same headstock as yours.
I think the first year of es100's is 1980. I have seen a few with an 80's serial.
good luck with the sale!

tokai es-100's are my favorite guitars. That looks like a real nice one. The tuners are indeed different then on mine, maybe replacements? 1000 to 1500 usd sounds like a really fair price, the natural and cherry red always seem to go for more. There are some other things on the guitar you posted: -l...
