You can buy swing top beer bottle washers without the beer if you're inclined to save you liver.

This place does them:

Am I correct in saying the ALS48 models are a Flamed Sycamore Veneer on an Alder back? That's what the catalog says... I've managed to find my catalogue and you're right, it's seems only the cheap quilted tops are prints. Here's some pics of my violin finish, but bear in mind it's an LS85. It's a s...

If you can get on Richtone's ebay site then there are some excellent photos of finishes there. I think the ALS48 is photo flame though, so be careful if looking at the higher models as they may look different (perhaps someone else can confirm). I also have some photos of my Violin Finish LS85 which ...

Lemon drop: http://www.themusicking.co.uk/images/watermarked/19028.png Violin Finish: http://www.totalmusicsupply.com/Images/Models/Full/102761.jpg There have been stories of varying qualities of the Chinese Tokais, certainly not as consistent as the Japanese models. It may be advisable to go and pl...

You should have your beef with the seller and not the manufacturer in my opinion. I'd be annoyed if I'd paid ?400 for a chinese model, you could have paid ?100 less than that for a new one with a case chucked in. It certainly doesn't look fake. Is it really so bad to play? I'd contact the seller if ...

In the UK we have GPs who you go and see and if you are lucky you get referred to a specialist or more often than not you get the 'come back if the problem persists scenario'.

I realise it's really a medical question but thought there may be some people on here who have experienced similar issues.

Violin finish looks better 'in the flesh', not as reddy as the pictures.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to see a doctor on Friday but I know the physio waiting time is a couple of months here. Luckily I will be out of the office and into the classroom soon (for a month) so that should help not typing. Is icing the area a good idea? It's not swollen or bruised so I'm n...

Not sure about that. I thought Western maple was rare on guitars now due to there not being enough of it?

Hand strain

Has anyone here got any tips for dealing with this? My fingers/wrist re ever so slightly painful when playing at the moment. It's not through playing or indeed the way I'm playing, several weeks ago I was playing 5 a side and during my stint in goal saved a shot which seemed to bend the fingers and ...

The LS85f will be more like a Les Paul Traditional, Gibson changed a lot of things on the Standard to modernise it. The price point is an appeal, I like the stock pickups in the LS85 but it would still be remarkably cheaper than a Gibson if I changed them, leaving you money to buy a very nice amp to...

If you look at the cutaway of those models in the photos you will see there is a proper maple cap due to the colour difference compared to the mahogony. The veneer is thin sycamore so it looks pretty decent. The flame isn't to subtle or dominant on my LS85F but that's just how it relates to my perso...

I don't like to buy amps on eBay. I like to drive them first. Sounds like you got a dud. I bought my Laney from ebay which to be fair to the seller was in the condition described (at least externally). Find it hard to believe that a valve would go so soon after it had been played "very few times an...

I'll have to see if I can fund it somehow (need to buy a car next month, eek) but I'd possibly be interested in the neck to stick on a Squier Strat I keep meaning to put a little tlc into in order to get it playing.

I'll have to check out if and how it will fit as well.
