I take your point about the different models, and I'm the first to admit that my knowledge in these matters is scant. However it does seem to me that the block inlay on the guitar for sale on gumtree seems to be very "big" compared to the guitars in the other photos. Also the gumtree guitar has inla...

Hi, sorry I can't confirm for sure that the guitar is a genuine Tokai. however the 3 screws on the truss rod cover would indicate that it is a Korean model. the made in Japan Tokais are the top end guitars and therefore the most sought after. that is not to say that the Korean models are no good. I ...

The Tokai ES 135 has block inlay and it is made in japan. If you google Richtone Music you will see an example of one. However I am 99.9% positive that ES 60's are only either made in Korea or China. I think the first model number for the MIJ guitars was ES 100 but there are more knowledgeable folk ...

Pretty sure all ES 60's are either made in Korea for the earlier models, or China for the newer ones. If I'm right and I think I am, they won't be nearly so good as MIJ guitars but that doesn't make them bad guitars.

just so long as you don't pay MIJ prices for it. :o

You could try asking Rob at http://www.whitstableguitars.co.uk/. He has had a few Maya guitars for sale in the past and usually has a fair amount of info on the guitars he sells. He has been very helpful whenever I have had dealings with him.

Just wondered what opinions you all have of this guitar. Originally listed as Korean made now amended to say probably Japanese.
