Peter Mac, when you say "one-piece body" , surely you're talking about the mahogony backs? Aren't the maple tops on LS200's centre-seamed, making them two piece? For SirPsycho: If I saw a 70 and a 200 together and the tops both looked good, I could tell them apart by the rosewood versus ebony fretbo...

Thanks for the reply, guitarboy! Is there a way to measure the value of a "lugless" pot on a PCB?

lawtone, I appreciate this info because changing pots has been something I've heard about, and even though I absolutely love the tone of my mid-80's Love Rock, I always wonder if it could be even better. However when I open the control cavity, not only is there no writing on the pots, there seems to...

It appears to have one of the two style of bell-shaped truss rod covers, and possibly the open book headstock with dimple (although its hard from the picture) indicating it's from the 80's. It doesn't have the eliptical truss rod cover from Korea, although that could have been changed. I've never se...

Thanks, Munkie! Barry maybe right, but I appreciate the pics anyway. I'm always interested in Love Rock photos because I've never yet seen another top as nice as my 80's flametop ALS60. If I could ever figure out how to get pics on the internet (technologically challenged, you see) I'll post pics of...

I've been thinking of trying one of the new lightweight stop tailpieces by Gotoh on my 80's Love Rock. It's supposed to increase sustain. Does anyone know if the stud spacing is the same?

Hi Quilt Top, Another thing I noticed between the two models is that the LS70 has a rosewood fingerboard while the more expensive model has ebony. I've always preferred a rosewood board, and also it's more correct to Les Pauls (except Customs). The taller pickup rings on Tokais are replicas of old L...

I would like to try to age the pickup covers and tailpiece on my '80's Love Rock to reduce some of the shine. What are they plated with? Has anyone done this with any success? Any info would be appreciated.
