Oops, all wrong I'm afraid, hehe... :o Speaking to several different Japanese friends on many occasions over the years they all always pronounce it "Torkeye" ("tor" as in tortoise or tore a pice of paper, and "eye" rhymes with "guy", as in one of the pair or eyes your reading this with, hehe) - the ...

Korean Tokais & Epiphones? - I've been told by several people that they're all made in the same factory under license by Samick. Apparently the Tokai Quality Control team are way tougher than the Epiphone mob. However, my best advice to you has to be : Forget it. Don't risk your money, save up & buy...

I've seen just one of these hi-end 4-bolt '66 Strat copies before, pretty rare. Maybe Ian &/or Ned can correct me here if I'm slightly off, but I seem to remember that "London Barry" (former most prolific poster here, & maybe one of the greatest authorities on Tokai guitars) had one & it was his all...

From the Blue Book: - "JOODEE See Daion. Instruments previously produced in Japan from the late 1970s through the 1980s. Joodee instruments were produced by luthier Shiro Tsuji and the T & Joodee Guitar company. Due to the demand in Japan for the Gem B series and others, very few instruments were ex...

I see it didn't reach reserve at ?330.30 (Approximately US $584.50) and has been re-listed at : - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7355074473 I think someone should point out to him that he's very probably misrepresenting it by listing it as a Tokai. I'm convinced it can't be any k...

Is this a Tokai???

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7354312156 This seller seems sure it's a "70's Tokai", but I can't see anything that leads me to belive it is. Sure it's got new Fender saddles & logo fitted, but the neck plate doesn't look like any other Tokai I've seen... http://i22.ebayimg.com/...

Another vote for Noriko at Ishibashi. You won't get a better price or service. I've dealt with both Noriko & Koichi there before and each time I've been amazed by the level of service, which is seldom matched in the West. I just ordered two LS-200s from Noriko (neither for me, both for good friends,...

Hi Villager - I have long been intrigued by this too (my brother got a Springy Sound - which I played a lot - back in the early 80's), the finish seems too thin & flexible to be polyester, yet I was sure it isn't nitro like on my '64 Strat (or '81 Love Rock LS-150). Turns out it's not nitrocellulose...

Have a word with Mike at http://www.thedecalshop.co.uk/ , he's very helpful, seems to like Tokai's, and already has authentic high quality decals for the Springy & Breezy Sound @ ?20 for the full set (plus postage). He responded promptly to my e-mails before. In his 'blurb' he says it isn't much mor...

(snip) I think I've bought the wrong set anyway, they were a bargain on ebay at ?70. I was looking for something to achieve a SRV tone.(snip) Hi Chris, I have to give the highest possible recommendation to Jim Wagner's "SR" p'ups (originally known as "SRV" set). I've been gigging with Strats for 33...
