Re: What strings for an LS150?!

Hi Tokaigi, Sounds to me like you're describing Snake Oil Brand's "Original Nickel Strings', which co-incidentally won the Guitar player Magazine's "Editors Pick" for 2006. - I've been using them on my LS-150 for about 2 years now & they are way nicer than the DRs &/or Pyramids I used before. I use ...

What Rustyslide said. These are quite common for 1980 Springys - thin "veneer" rosewood fingerboard on maple neck (copies of obscure transition Fender models?), with walnut skunk-stripe & plug at headstock. My favorite ever Springy is the same : - http://homepage.mac.com/cybercat/.Pictures/treacle.j...

Hi rifke, Welcome to the forum. Looks to me like it could be a "bitsa" - a JV body with a Tokai neck, but as Mike Martin said you'd have to get inside to find out for sure. The white 11-hole pickguard and very white p'up covers knobs & switch tip dont't look very 80's Tokai-like to me. Of the couple...

Muriatic acid is extremely dangerous, I'd strongly advise against it. :o A mixture of strong bleach (the kind for cleaning toilets, not clothes) with a touch of white vinegar (wear rubber gloves & keep the windows open!) should do it. Get out of the room & leave it to work overnight. You may want to...
