Almost forgot about a Univox Hi-Flyer that I traded in back in '74 for a strat. (Still have the that strat.) Those Hi-Flyers sure got popular after Kurt Cobain played one. :o (As did the Mossberg shotgun.) I still have my two Hi-Flyers (one with humbuckers and one with P90's) and matching 3/4 scale...

I wish I had that one back!

How about a thread regarding guitars that you wish you never parted with? I'll start. Back in '83 I was a Schecter dealer. (This is when they were based out of Dallas and more of a parts house.) They had a new program called 'Create your own monster.' You could select any parts from their catalog an...

honeyboy- Remember those great nylon picks that were included in the Mel Bay books? Wish I could find some more of those. I can't say that I remember getting a pick with those books back in the 60's. I do remember that they were much wider than they were tall. I reckon that was so they would stay o...

Very cool! I see you already did some mods. Did you put on the top hats or were they stock? Non-matching knobs does add to the realism.

I think that Vintage made a big mistake with their name. Ever Google 'Vintage Guitars?' Nearly impossible to find these folks.

How cool. My first record was the 'Born to be wild' 45 in '68. I was 10 years old, and I remember trying to get my guitar teacher to help me learn it. No dice. 'Nice boys only play selections from their Mel Bay books.'

Yep. There's a factory in Ensenada, Mexico that has been making fake Fenders for years.

Re: How far should you go selling a fake ?

I once had a 14 year old student come to me all excited about his new REAL Fender Strat he had just bought. He had worked his arse off on odd jobs and cleaning cars for years to buy this. His parents had very little money and he soon become a grafter ( worked hard ;) ) . He paid ?400 quid for one o...
