hollow sound when you knock? Jepp, one idea that came to my mind first. Light weight (under 3.8 kilo) could be also a hint. Gibson on the headstock? Another possibiity ;) Some Gibson fanatics say, the chambered ones sound better than the massive ones. I can't compare it, i have neither one here, bu...

..... What fascinates me is the big difference in feel between an 8lb Lester that feels realtively light and the 10lb ones that feel heavy. It's odd that those extra 2lbs seem to make so much difference! Difference in sound, or in handling? Or both? Could you describe the difference a little closer...

He told me to go f*** myself.

Seemed fair enough really
I hope your bass players back gets better after routing out the body of his bass. ;)

Yeah, of course, sorry I forgot. Stevie Ray & Jimi had such a thin, weak tone didn't they? My mistake  Well, their tone (when they played strats) wasn't exactly as fat as a good Lester sound, was it? Ahh, of course i am wrong. Of course a strat does deliver that typical Le Paul tone, the warmt...

Re: do not route out the back?

at the risk of getting flamed, i must concur ... Yep. Polical "correctness" sometimes has sick effects and just hides resentments, without really changing them. Imho. Back to guitars: what villager and me wrote 'bout the right guitar strap is more usefull than that tokenistic indignation, imho. CYa...

... Honestly, maybe the dude has a bad back... As stated before, i have several slipped disks. I know what heavy back pain is, probably i know heavier back pain than the most people here. And i had to learn that the right sports, done regularely and with energy, is the cure. A strong back is a less...

Re: do not route out the back?

Once again I excuse for my harsh words. If you actually want to live in a past centuries ... Hmmm, i never though 'bout this, but if this century is a century where you are not allowed to say open what you think and show what you feel, then this might be not my century. Political 'correctness' is a ...

No steroids necessary, no bodybuilding in a schwarzenegger-sense, just a little work out on a regular base.

Re: burny les paul is to heavy, should i route out the back?

... 10.8 lbs... . Thats a lot, a little more than mine, but no problem! DO a little sports, thats it. A box of mineral water weights lots more, and you do not have a leather belt for it. Or are you a sissy that lets his wife carry the water box? I have 3 (!) slipped disks, and a play without proble...

Hi, nice Burny, very similar to my cherryburst one (which is soundwise a killer). If it is not as described, just return it. It seems to be a 90s Burny, and it should not be too difficult to get a rather similar one. Fret buzz doesn't come from (too) low frets, but from too high frets (e.g. if some ...

EmptySet, your Burny looks just lovely! Congrats, phantastic looking guitar. :) @MIJvintage: Your 2 plainies also look rather nice. :) I agree, the Fernandes/Burny-PUs are rather good, nevertheless i replaced them on one of my Burnys and will replace tehm on my other Burny. Not because they are bad ...

Also a pure matter of taste.
E.g. i like 70s stuff of ZZ Top and the early records of Grand Funk Railroad, as well as the stuff the german Scorpions did in the 70s.

Absolutely.
Many of most interesting metal acts e.g. come from Scandinavia;
and of course it depends on your taste.

Re: Gibson wins again against Canada !!!

....Gibson is putting the screws to the canadian market..... Jep, but what else could Gibson do? The quality of their intruments is low (swiss cheese, short tenon, meanwhile they mill instead drill) compaired to their high prices, so how can they keep their high profits without lawsuiting against s...
