I had to pay the delivery person about 9% on a Tokai that came from Ishibashi, via EMS. I live in the midwest USA.

Thanks to everyone for this topic! I put some Orange Drops in today (PUPs are '57 Classic in the neck, and Burstbucker Pro bridge), and WOW! Thought I would try something cheap before spending for Bumblebees. Local reputable guitar repair shop informs me these caps are so over rated for an electric ...

I really like those little black concentric discs from Dunlop. They only cost a few bucks for a pack of three. I think they give you an extra as the QC isn't too good on them, and some are too loose, some too tight. Still, they are SO cheap that if you buy an extra pack here or there it doesn't matt...

Never owned a guitar for more than a few months before changing PUs, at least not in the last 15 years. Strat types, I like the Texas specials, or even SOAPBARS, Duncan or Gib, hear there are some other cool ones now too! Sound great in a Strat, if you don't mind cutting wood. All my humbucker guita...

Hey, thanks! There are a few here and there on eBay as I write this, but there are all who knows how old, and up for auction. Thing I can just plain buy, ideally new, and will perform at the rated specs? I've had bad luck with old parts, as they were just plain old. Granted, they will likely sound b...

I don't know much about Peter Green, other than he played Matamp (which lead tp them being called Green for a while), and I didn't care for the band he started once they got that stand up gal singer. I do know, that all the Gary Moore I've seen has him playing a LP where the neck PU visable pole pie...

Now hang on a second here... This forum is full of people who can't sleep unless they have looked in thier PU cavity to see what is or isn't in there, and have to turn over the tailpiece to see whats stamped there. OK, tenon length is a stability issue, -except, a short tenon LP has more neck body c...

I have ordered one, but am waiting to hear the final word on exactly what the headstock will look like. I am just just assuming it will be the current UK shape, and was very dissappointed that it would not carry the "proper" shape, as they say in Finland. Imagine a '50's style Strat with a '70's sty...

Oh, I won't dispute heavier strings produce a better sound. Simple science. I enjoy 9's though, and as I stated I will use 10's on occassion. If I don't enjoy the feel though, I don't care what it sounds like. I do use a heavy pick however. Can't get going fast enough when using a thin plectrum. Whe...

I've played for 30 years, and have settled in on 9's. 8's just won't stay in tune with me touch, and I break them like crazy. Will use 10s once in a while in the studio, but am perfectly happy with 9s, and don't consider them "girly" in the least.

Yeah, I have found MOST guitars of any brand have a tough time making suggested guidelines for string height. I will tolerate a slight bit of buz, as long as it doesn't effect the sustain on bends. To speak in mm, I really want 1 on the high side, and then 2 or so on the low strings. That shouldn't ...

How are you guys measuring? I put a ruler on the top of the fret, 90 degree angle to the fingerboard, and then mearsue to the bottom of the un-depressed string. Are you all measuring from the fret, or the fingerboard? I generally measure in 64ths of an inch (Yankee), and it seems Gibs come factory 4...
