Wow, if that doesn't prove Rick Derringer played the solo in the studio I don't know what would. Completely different approach to bends, totally different string vibrato, etc. ...And how about that drummer drifting about three beats per minute up and down throughout the song. Classic song, good reco...

The Peterson Strobe-o-stomp (or some such silly name). It's actually 100 times more accurate than a standard electronic tuner, and not only will read ANY note, but you can even programn it for drop tunings, Buz Feiton, and so on specifically. Spendy, but I would never go back to anything less.

Don't know if if can be safetly removed, but it is not uncommon to find Gibson headstock overlays on top of the regular Tokai (or other company) logo. If the other markings, and serial number are correct, there is probably the real headstock logo underneath the Gib bit. Ebay routinely has decals for...

shielding

I am considering a "project" guitar. I notice some of the pics posted here, as well as some of the guitars I own, have a dark grey paint in the cavities. I can only assume this is for shielding.

Any of you DIY-ers out there that can tell me what paint I should use?

Thanks, you guys are great!

So, basically the Edwards are using cheaper woods, and a minimum of laquer. That explains the less than $700 price. One piece back though??? The Navigators seem more comparable to high quality Tokai, Gibson Historic, etc. I did at first think the Navigators prices were a misprint. $2700 for an LP wi...

Edwards/Navigater Questions...

Really enjoying hearing about the Edwards brand here. At first I dismissed them to be honest, but clearly that is a mistake. I didn't realize they were ESPs. The FINEST Les Paul style guitar I EVER played (and I bought my first LP in 1977) was just a few years ago in a local store. Said "Gibson", lo...

I get a little nervous when I see the feedback on a seller, and alot of them are from ebayers with only a few transactions (such as with this seller). I am not accussing this particular seller of anything, but it would be easy to have multiple IDs, and pretend to buy from yourself, just to boost you...

Plek

Hi, Anyone here had a guitar "Pleked"? I have a '79 'Paul I dearly love. Really low action, but still maintaining a bit of "snap". Really fast and comfy. Sadly, it is starting to show the first signs of audible fret wear. Hate the idea of playing it to death, getting it re-fretted, and having the ma...

...And people say as long as you are getting the proper amount of electricity, what power cord you use from the wall to the amp doesn't matter. I've done blind comparrisons many times, and all these things that aren't supposed to matter, and indeed the paper says they don't DO matter! I don't care w...

These threads on wiring have been great! I have changing caps in all my guitars, and WOW! They have become SO much more dynamic, responsive, and broader in extreme highs and lows! Today I put Hovlands in one guitar, tomorrow I put them in another. They are a bunch better than the Orange Drops, but e...

Hey Sneaky, didn't mean for anyone to interpet your shipping as fraud (despite your name here  ). I was not posting as a response to your actions. It appears you are a personal collector, and not a store. I have however, heard of people trying to get stores to help them avoid fees though, and ...

I used the same cord for over 1o years, and on the road at that! It never failed me. Still, after a while, I just ended up needing more/other cables. Those "boutique" cables are COMPLETELY for real! Even the Monster cables make a HUGE DIFFERENCE in sound. Just remember, everytime someone activates a...

You can't get a store to write "gift" on the customs form though, that would be fraud for them. Don't know why I got stuck paying, but I did, and had to sign a rather official government form as well. -And it was my regular mailman (maillday, actually) who brought my guitar to the door. The box did ...
