Firebird style PUs

Hi all, the Tokai FB-53 (set neck Firebird style guitar), which I have much interest in, comes with mini-humbuckers, no exposed pull pieces. Do they make the PUs themselves, or are they OEM? I have heard both. I have heard the Korean ones come with different electronics, which seem to have mixed rev...

Hard Case for a Tokai Firebird?

Since Tokai ship with soft cases, I assume that means a Gig Bag, what hard case can I buy that will fit a FB-53?

I see the Epiphone cases are readily available, but will it fit? Is there a better option?

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply Ned. I have of course seen this in cars. I would've thought the Tokai name was good enough to not nessesitate them offering different names. I also know the difference between Gib and Epi is HUGE! It is the small differences in the Dillions that give me pause, only because I've ...

AFAIK? I don't know what that means. If Dillion and Tokai are truely the same thing, why the different name? Also, the Dillions I've seen on the web have different headstock shapes than Tokai. I also had a dealer in Canada tell me if I wanted a Dillion V, it would be a few months. I could order one ...

The problem as I understand it with the product in Canada is that it is actually Dillion, and not truely Tokai. Also, the models available seem quite limited. There are real cosmetic differences I've seen on the web between the Tokai, and the Dillion. While I have no reason to doubt the quality of D...

Buying Korean Tokais

Hi all, I am going to order a Tokai MIJ guitar or two from Ishibashi this week (I live in the USA), but I also am interested in a FV style. Ishiashi only seem to sell the MIJ, and the Japanese Tokai FVs are all bolt on Necks. The Korean ones are set neck, which I perfer. Also, it seems the Korean on...

Looking for a flying V.

MUST have set neck, and straight neck with good frets, and NOT a "string-thru" body. Beyond that, I am less picky. The couple I've seen on eBay lately were either as much as Gibson, or I couldn't get to a computer at the end of auction to make appropriate bids. I'm not cheap, but want it mostly for ...

Whitehall, If the wood working and finish were OK, did you just replace the electronics? I do that even in expensive guitars. I only play Burstbuckers, or '57 Classic PUs (the Gib reissues) for humbuckers, and my '57 Vintage USA reissue Strat I loaded with Texas Specials, as the original PUs had tha...

Dillion?

Hi, I hear the Dillions are made by Tokai in thier Korean factory. True or no? Any good, or no? Internet searches gives extremes, people love or hate them. Sounds like dealers, and people with unrealistic ideas about what they should get for cheap. If someone has a problem with a particular dealer o...

Thanks everyone! It looks like the Japaneses ones are more like $1000USD, and use EMS, but the ones from elsewhere are likely made in Korea, and are more like $500, but you will be paying customs fees. Can someone tell me are there actual differences in the models between Japanese made and Korean ma...

Importing Tokai to the USA (single guitar)

Hi All, I'm new here, but own several expensive Gibs, Fenders, Etc. I was recently in the UK, and fell in love with some Tokais. I can't seem to find a dealer here in the USA. All this talk of lawsuits with Gibson and such have different stories, which I don't really need to know the details of. For...
