My LS200 is in the shop right now getting stuff done to it (I'm not gonna DIY that guitar!) Foil-sheilded cavity Grover tuners (never liked Klusons on Les Pauls - to me, they look too 'SG') 'Hatbox' knobs - can't stand those horrible horrible 'tophat' ones! Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro pickups - the...

A lot of wahs (eg. Dunlop & Vox reissues) have terrible bypasses and will kill your high-end in bypass mode. Fortunately, it's pretty easy to modify them to true-bypass (need a new switch nad some soldering skills). The Dunlop 535Q wah already has true bypass, but it's more expensive and harder to f...

Kindred spirit! Join me and together we shall rid the world of quilted maple once and for all!

(I've never seen anyone else who hates quilt as much as me - it's becoming a running gag on another forum I'm on!)

DD3 is kickass, and supposedly has a few points in its favour over the DD5 - better bypass and suchlike.

I'm hoping to get one soon myself.

I've used Ernie Ball Slinky 10's since I started playing. My new love rock came strung with girly-man 9's, but given the chronic buzzing I'd say it was set up for 10's.

No soundclips, 'fraid - my PC mic is terrible! There were a few bumps on the cardboard box when it came, but the hardcase was fine. As to the guitar, there are a few *tiny* pits in the finish next to the neck pickup, so small you can only see them reflected, and the laquer has a small crack at the n...

I've fixed one up LondonBarry - Epi LP Standard with Gotoh tuners (18:1 chrome), hand-cut bone nut, shielded cavity, all-new electronics, pro setup (inc. fretjob), and if ya want I'll stick in a set of Gotoh PAF#1's (ie. LS200 stock pickups). Heritage cherry sunburst, really nice dark fretboard. Mak...

vanneste: Almost everybody on HC rated the JCM2000's down on reliability. That doesn't bode well. Also a I know a few people who had lots of trouble with the 2000's. I was going to buy a JCM2000 DSL, but the front panels on the ones I tried got too hot to touch after about 20mins use - this can't be...

If you want that classic 60's/70's ROCK sound, a Marshall valve amp is your only option! The JCM2000 DSL's have a more 'classic' tone than the metally TSL's, but they appear to have serious reliability issues. If you go second hand you can get a great amp for a great price - I got me a 2-channel mar...

Consensus here appears to be that the (plaintop) LS65 sounds better as the top is not a laminate. But it doesn't look half as nice IMO.
