The NLP-40 is a beautiful guitar and very well made like all the other MIK Tokais we get. There is a maple cap on mahogany body. Flame and quilt tops are NOT photo tops, they are real wood veneers that are used for the nice flame/quilt effects.

By the way, how many parts do the mahogany bodies usually have? Looking e.g. at the faded tobacco sunburst model it seems to be a 2-piece back? What is their average weight? Ian if you'd be so kind as to enlighten me as to what info "togps" has I'd really like to hear it as he wouldn't share that info with me.

If you check out my site you'll see this as being the headstock of a new MIK 52 tele style and it says Goldstar Sound on it. I personally am not a tele fan but they are a decent guitar, nice build quality and they play nice.

The Korean made models are a nice, well guitar as you may have noticed yourself since you were able to actually try them out.

The MIK jr. has a maple neck where as the MIJ jr. has a one piece mahogany neck. I'm sure there will also be differences in the electronics and hardware.

Its not a Tokai, you got lied to. Renagade brand guitars have ABSOLUTLY NOTHING to do with Tokai.

Well I can't really tell you much about them other than the fact that those guitars are samples models that our supplier here brought in to check out and they are %100 Korean made.
