It looks like a mismatched top to me which might have been left on the woodpile. Nice looking guitar though.

Other features that show up in higher models are long tenon, lacquer finish, better looking inlays, CTS pots, hard case included, then up to brazilian boards and fret edge binding.

I have an "A" stamped pickup without the PU-2 marka as well. I bought it advertised as as a used PU-2 and it has an Alnico magnet but nothing in 100% certain.

Custom will ding you for the HST/PST/GST whatever it is called in your province.

The catalog excerpt above says the ST-120 and ST-100 had newly released Dimarzio VS-1 pickups. It says the ST-120 had the flame maple neck as the upgrade.

Inlays like that are not cheap so I'd say a custom model or something made for an instrument trade show. You should write to Tokai and see if they can help.

I've had three of these, they all had a 1-piece mahog back with a 1-piece mahog cap.
