out of the less than half a dozen DX quilt top examples I have seen, your example has (IMO) the nicest looking fingerboard & the quilt top ...

had a good look at the board and i think your correct its mad not braz, the reason it could be mistaken is that there are very very few pores in the board, and they are small...

an LS-320 1997-2003 is about as good as it gets.. better than an R8 by a fair way..

That has the pick guard screw placement of a BST-64 & the round lam fingerboard of a BST-64, yet it is clearly stamped as a BST-62 on the warranty car ...
