I think the whole intonation issue is a compromise on a Strat.
You either have the guitar in tune perfectly with lower output, or slightly out of tune with the pickups nearer the strings.

No, the block logo was late 1982 and early 1983.
I bought my guitar in November 1983 and it's the like the one above.
I have adverts from October 1982 for Tokai Strats with the block logo.

Are you sure the JB120 came with a brass nut?
Even the catalogue looks like a white nut.

Looking at my 1983 spec sheet, the only difference between a JB80 & 120 is possibly the body wood.
On the 120, the body could be made of 'Castor Arabia' (Sen), Linden or Alder.
The JB80 says it' ...

The guitar is a ST50, like the sticker says.
I'd guess 1983.
Mine is similar, but has a 5 digit serial number.
