But one way to check is by cranking the volume and gain and hear whether it starts 'squealing'

Deacci pickups have been high on my list but I just noticed the prices have gone up a fair bit so that leaves me to look elsewhere.

Regarding Spence... you mean Spence from Shed pickups? I have a set of those in my LS80. I'm actually thinking of replacing them for lower output pickups...

There is a 1981 Tokai catalogue on this website. Maybe someone with knowledge of Japanese can tell us?

Congratulations, it sure is a looker! I love how it has aged, with the lacquer checking and the Tokai logo turning yellow.

My LS-80 currently has a set of Shed PAF Daddy pickups but I want a bit lower output and that out of phase tone for my inner Peter Green!
