Nice guitar. Looks a lot like a Terada built T. Haruo I used to have.

Yahoo Japan will not ship speakers to the states because the magnets are considered a hazardous material by most of the traditional carriers.
Good to know, I would have never guessed that one.

Just buy an old Fender Pro Jr. and be done with it. :D

Re: Tokai Les Paul Reborn 1978 LS50 - value/spec info?

Nice! 3 piece top and back and 14 degree headstock angle but who cares. A real solid wood player that has all you ever need in a classic LP. Way good enough to gig with but not so nice that you're reluctant to take it out of the house or even the case to play it or bounce it on the stage a few times...

Re: Tokai les Paul reborn

Something doesn't look right to me about this one being a 1978-1980. 3 piece top usually only on LS 50, but usually with multi piece back too. Single ring tuners have screw in bushings instead of press in, so headstock holes would possibly have had to been enlarged to fit those? Pickups have no adju...

Re: Identify Tokai Love Rock LS-50 80‘s

Wasn't "Love Rock" begins mid year 1980 and model number fretboard stamp stopped around that time? Serial number usually impressed (or a few LS50/60 ink stamped) back of headstock, model number sometimes on an oval sticker? Most LS50 were 3 piece tops. I'm no expert, I just play the wonderful things...

Re: Very Expensive Vintage LS-200s ? on YJ

Doesn't the "Tokai" logo look a little low on the headstock of that 1979?
I guess they were all hand placed anyway?

Bridge is the screw in to stud Nashville type too.
Didn't Tokai use ABR-1?

Re: LP Deluxe / mini Humbucker style modification ?

The mini's would have been factory and then it was routed for full size humbucker at the bridge. The screw holes at the neck PU are from something called "goof rings" that they used at one point. Yeah, never should have let that '71 go(should have kept the JMP combo too), loved the deep dark color o...
