1981 ES100R pickups

Hi
Does anyone know if the standard pickups on a 1981 ES100R are wax potted or not?
Thanks

Just picked one up today

Bought one of these at the north west guitar show this morning and used it at band practice this afternoon. Great little amp, I really like it. Used on the clean channel with a fulltone OCD for dirt gave great tones. Highly recommended, I'd say it's a sweeter sound than the Blackstar HT5.

FS - RG43 type Rock in better Rick copy fireglo - SOLD

Hi I've got a fireglo RG43 type guitar made by you know who that I need to sell on. Bought new last year, professionally set up by a local luthier who also changed the machine heads for better quality ones. No country of origin, I would guess it's Chinese. Certainly not claiming it's a Tokai, that l...

That's a great looking ES100R, quite a different shade to mine. How do you rate the magnatone amp?

What a beauty. I have a two p90 version, took it out and gave it a good 2 hour session yesterday, wonderful slim fast neck and those pups sound great through my ac30.

What it's worth is always a tricky one - it's a personal thing, what are you willing to pay for that guitar? Personally I'd say yes, it's worth it. They are great guitars.

I've never played or heard a J version, would be very interesting to compare the two pick up outputs/tones - I must find one somewhere! They really did make them well - what a neck.

Meet my ES100R

http://i1257.photobucket.com/albums/ii509/Chesterreddragon/20120709_220650.jpg Hi all, thought I'd share my lovely 1981 ES100R with you (virtually anyway). I've had this fabulous guitar since 1983, bought new in a sale from A1 music in Manchester. The first electric guitar I owned and I didn't buy ...

:D Sorry for OT but notice you are an old Selmer user Chester! Though without its original amp, this old Truevoice and 18 watt Traynor Guitar Mate Reverb has been my main noise box for the last 20 years. Great combo, still with original Goodmans 12 's in it. http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu222...
