I thought they used the Timeless Timber for the necks only? Thats how they were advertised. That was timber that had sunk of the bottom of the Great Lakes so I don`t think we have much mahogany in Canada. This comes from the advertising they had in the Japanese guitar magazines when they first intr...

tokai pronuciation

I have always just assumed that it is toke-eye but i guess it could be toke-aye such as the tokay gekko. Stupid perhaps- but I haven`t really spoken in person to anyone i would consider definitive on this issue- and obviously I don`t speak japanese, I can barely type english!

thanks for the info! I have found this site to be the best at getting any info- but was still confused. I have had a silverstar 7okai with the serial202xxxx on the headsock decal. I assume it is a 82 but have never seen a breakdown of how to tell what model- other than "seventies strat". What i need...

If that is true peter, then the id chart on the main page of this sight is wrong. In the fender models ID section it says the ss60 has the serial on the headstock- and don`t all the bullet SS have that? the 66 copy is the only one that doesn`t, and is a abberation as the SS is always a 70s strat.

you might point out to them that your studies are to benifit the people who have supported them throughout. The fact of the matter is, if tokai could "get into" the american market in a big way they would prosper as they have always desired. The information you posses of this focus group is as impor...

Silverstar pre 82?

I have a 7okai siverstar- which dates it by the forum as pre 82. What if any are the other things to look for to be more exact in dating? This guitar was purchased in a pawn shop in the early eighties. This is a college town, and one of the leading computer centers in the world- so it would not be u...
