Re: Greco Mint Collection SG-700

Great guitars, I've got one here that I found recently, number 5546 and a few have been seem over the years. As you say, very nice pickups and a fairly fat neck. I think it may be an SS-85 based on another similar rare model SS-85S.(http://www.sonicsystem.co.jp/sonix/archives/35510)

Caps are original but pots are not. Original metric pots were short shaft.
CTS makes metric pots now, or you can go with standard CTS pots. Knobs will need to fit whatever you choose obviously.

Beautiful guitar! I think that lacquer burn will be easy to fix for the buyer by sanding lightly and polishing.

Re: What is a fair price?

Here is a 120 Les Paul Reborn Old for a sale price of 280,000 yen... https://www.digimart.net/cat01/shop169/DS05855610/ You have to pay extra for all that natural buckle rash and neck mojo. https://img.digimart.net/prdimg/m/1b/3762f3e59ff11b5646e6e43e8e49270102458a.jpg https://img.digimart.net/prdim...

Re: What is a fair price?

Supply and demand will give you the prices. There are a limited number out there and prices seem to creep up slowly. Anything in excellent shape will command a top price. I see a Reborn Old LS-80 in very worn condition at Kurosawa for 185,000 yen with no hard case. It is what the market is like thes...

Re: WHAT Was Your FAVORITE Guitar Purchase of 2019?

They are original to the guitar but the bridge is a 14k wind so probably not they typical YUTA recipie. Probably from that company though.

I think the 500s I've seen are all semi-hollow.

I'm going to say this Momose that I got a couple of months back. It ticks all the boxes for me and is a good looker too IMO.

Re: FS Greco EG59-60 Tokai-made

Thanks Marcus, this just sold on Reverb. Nice plain top. I agree about the Screamins, particularly with a bit of overdrive.

In discussion with someone at 246 guitars I was told that PGM was making these guitars. No surprise that they are top notch.

Re: EGF-1200 "Sunburst Lady"

The 1200s indeed do have veneer tops, and not all of the 1200s (or 1800s) have Brazilian boards either. They seemed to run out around the end of 1980.
