Re: Riverhead/Headway EVH 'Kramer ad guitar' EVER SEEN THESE?
The guitar in the first picture seems to have one of the mods that EVH is said to have done to his own axe - the coin stuck to the top of the body near the Floyd Rose. Did your guitar come like that from new? Any more photos?

Re: Wtf
So, it was a gold top but had flame under that? What happened to all the parts.
It certainly seems to be a ^&*( deal.

Re: I finally became a more or less proud Tokai owner.
It's possible that white looking part in the pickup routes could be wood filler that gets put on before the colour coats. You could try sanding it a bit to see if you get through to some brown wood. It looks like the grain underneath that white section is similar to the main body wood, possibly too ...

Re: PAF Vintage Mk4 Pickups?
Looks like you've done a great job on removing the finish.
Good stuff!
Sorry I don't know jack about pickups or re-finishing guitars.

Re: I finally became a more or less proud Tokai owner.
However due to the stellar reputation of Tokai on quality I remained a little disappointed, the busted volume pot is an easy fix, but the inlays are not. Here there is a picture: https://scontent-mxp1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/p720x720/91785624_3059738837416222_227902539662622720_o.jpg?_nc_cat=107&_n...

Re: I finally became a more or less proud Tokai owner.
Dissapointed to hear that. This is one of the reasons I have not bought a new Tokai. I have heard from quite a few people that modern Tokai just does not have the quality of the 70, 80s and 90s. If I pay near Gibson prices for a copy, it better blow my mind on all levels. Sorry to hear that man. My...

Re: I finally became a more or less proud Tokai owner.
... fit and finish is great: I don´t know if lacquer really means nitro however fretwork is flawless, the bone nut is really well cut and the guitar arrived with a very low action that almost makes me difficult to play. These are probably the most important aspects of guitar quality IMO. Gibson had...

Re: I finally became a more or less proud Tokai owner.
I am less happy to find out the first five MOP inlays are offset and one is slightly tilted, evidently Tokai´s legendary attention for details belongs to the past. :-? I can tell you that my vintage Tokai LS has inlays that are not accurately centred, but I kind of like it. Love your new Custom and...

It would be a great loss to see you go but if you really wanted to take our minds off covid-19 then talk about anything but that. There was no humour or lightness in the question that came across to the reader. Not me anyway. "My intent of this post was to take our minds off of reality for a couple...

Re: DiMarzio and double creams
Dimarzio has also protected the acronym PAF for their own use. Larry is VERY good at getting the rights to use things he didn't come up with." "The Golden Age Parsons Street Humbuckers actually have double cream bobbins. You would need to remove the Nickel or Gold pickup cover." I take it you can't...

Very nice :D That's not unlike mine. 250k pots are standard for fender-style single coils I think. Not so sure about the cap (shouldn't it list its capacitance?). In fact it does - 473K means 47 x 1000 which equals the value in picofarads: 47000 pf We want micro farads which is the range that all g...
