Orsum!!! 8) I'm not a bass player, but even I can appreciate that. Nice job dude! Reminds me of the Precision that the late, great Howie Epstein played in the golden years of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers! http://jamiepruner.com/images/petty,%20dylan,%20howie%20epstein.jpg Altogether now: "She wa...

Trouble is, you may been beaten by a fiver, but the temptation then would have been to have got involved in a bidding war, and before you know it you've paid way, way over the odds! If I see something I like, I stick my max bid on it then forget about it until I get the email from Ebay telling me wh...

I've got a Gibson "Standard" TRC on mine. I like the look of it, and it fits with just one more screw hole about 5mm up from the original top one. Mods on mine are limited to a pair of locking buttons, the above mentioned TRC and some Grover Deluxe tuners in original design, but die-cast with...

Word is that Stevie Ray Vaughan used a Tokai for a good while, and Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top was a major Tokai player too as I recall. I used to think Tokai were "Cheap copies" until I knew better. If I was ever buying new guitars again now it'd be Tokai every time. I just don't see how you can get an...

This guy's site is well worth a read:

He's currently removing necks from vintage acoustics using steam injection.
Brave man! He's got bigger balls than I have.

Nice pictures!
They cleaned up really well. I've had Strats that have been a bit "Buzzy" but I've cured them with massive amounts of copper shielding. It's very cheap on Ebay, so maybe that will do the job okay for you?

I remember seeing this in (I think) 1990 and I've just found it again on YouTube.
Brilliant! Don't know how they got all those players together just for five minutes, but I'm glad they did.
Enjoy!

http://mrglyn.blogspot.com/2008/11/gibson-sg-neck-re-set.html Like that? I don't know how common it is to be honest. I had an SG and mine was fine. I liked it a lot. It sounded great, played well and easily and looked good. The only reason I got rid of it was because it was so badly balanced, and no...

My younger brother has owned pretty much every expensive bass known to man in his time, and all he has now are Tokais. he loves them. I don't think you'll go too far wrong for that price. Assuming that's the type of bass you want? There's a reason whay almost every hit record was done on either a Pr...

Hmm. Interesting sound for a Love Rock. Doesn't sound much like my one, but then you can never tell from an audio clip really. If it plays good and sounds good to you then it is good, simple as that. Your bit of Black Dog" raised a smile. That's always the first thing I play when I pick up my Love R...
