Re: I finally became a very unhappy Tokai owner.

I should have said it often takes Tokai 3 -4 days to get back to an email query. I have had to email them a couple of times about non serial Tokais i have etc... they did always get back to me. Now with the Corona i would imagine it might take longer.

Re: I finally became a more or less proud Tokai owner.

It's a general rule with Tokai customs that Wine Red is Mahogany, and that Black is Maple capped.

That being said i'm sure there are Black Tokai customs that are all Hog. They would be the exception to the rule though.

Re: I finally became a more or less proud Tokai owner.

i just checked out my Tokai black custom out of curiosity and the inlays seem straight, mine however is a lower end MIJ 2011 LC with rosewood board. I also have a 2014 all hog WR LC136 that i won on a Japanese auction that i hope is a good one. It will be a few months before it gets home. Perhaps em...

Re: Is this a real Tokai?

I saw that one too and wondered... the routing also looks a bit off. I wondered if it could be from the Custom Shop but i've never seen any come out of there with that logo. The serial however looks dead correct for Tokai ...

It is a wonder. I've never seen another.

Ebay server is down so i can't compare . There is one on the Rinkya right now, it is from '88 and is black/white guard but has white edging and black neck. Perhaps different years got a different layout. Or Perhaps different model numbers ? Pretty cool guitars none the less. https://www.rinkya.com/e...

Re: " 2020 TOKAI FORUM COOL GUITAR CONTEST! "

No, mine does..... a white inky stamp, 5 digits if I recall in the old vintage format - leading number is an 8 followed by a space and four additional numbers - kind of like the Mint Collection stamps. I'm actually out of town and don't have it in front of me. I would expect them to have a serial n...
