Re: 1985 Tokai TLC 65

A lot depends on what you'd be happy with. I'm pretty sure a '85 LC would have a rosewood board. Do you need care if it's nitro or poly ?? Do you want a maple cap or Hog ?? It would also come with humbuckers. Mini-Hums i've never had but i'm pretty sure they fit a P90 cavity. '85 was a traditional y...

Depends on whether or not you like the Mexi strat.

I see divots on the actual frets, hope you can level and polish etc..

That's pretty cool for a bolt on.

Reminds me of Ibanez back in the day.

I don't really like 3 pup customs but i think they are gorgeous to look at

Re: Chinese or Korean Tokai?

Korean Tokai's never had serial numbers as far as i know. Except Fakai's. The Chinese ones did and some did start with the letter prefix "C"

That one even without pictures i can tell you is Chinese.

Re: Lumtric Guitars (Sonic Guitars by the Lumtric Co.)

They look delightful

. I have to ask out of simple curiosity what does Lumtric mean ?? Is it a last name ?? or is it just a made up word ?

Re: 1984 Tokai ATE breezy sound telecaster

Good God why would you do that to a nice guitar ?? Buy a $50 Jay Turser or something an experiment with your artwork. A vintage guitar isn't something you need to go gradeschool on. Just my opinion and of course it is your guitar, use it for a toboggan if you feel that's what you wanna do.

Re: 79 Reborn

A LS80 from those years would be nitro for sure. It has something in it that makes it wear differently that Gibson's easy crackle recipe. Most people think taking out the circuit board for a new harness would be an upgrade but if you do i'd keep the old parts just in case you want to sell. Some peop...

Yep that's a tokai body all right. MB code means metallic blue. Those little dimples in the pup cavities are also a Tokai sign fro the earlier days, not sure when they were fazed out.
