Hi Herbert, Thanks for all your details, very interesting! My live setup in the video in the first post (unchanged for 5 years) is pretty simple too, just the Tokai (LS-150 or ST-80) into this board : - http://homepage.mac.com/cybercat/.Pictures/Fuzzy/mainboard.jpg (...for this song the Cot 50 & Cor...

I'm the guy on the right in the black & white baseball cap. The L...

Springy Sound ST-80 & ST-100s from '79 - 1981 should be V profile necks (quite a 'hard' V). I have an ST-80 & it's quite a handful, but very comfortable when you get used to it, & especially on long gigs... There were a couple on eBay last week, one sold (ST-85, extra '5' was for custom colour - in ...

My 1980 ST-60 is also like this, rosewood fingerboard, skunk stripe _ ..but 11 screw-holes for the original pickguard. I've also used Fast Fret for years (prolly over 20), with no apparent ill-effects on my '64 Strat, or any of the others I've used it on. I usually wipe it on the STRINGS, though, rather than apply it directly to the fingerboard itself.... However, I've seen discussions like this before re. proprieta...

Thanks Chris for your reply. Maybe Peter is THE EXPERT but you too are 'in the mood' with Tokai guitars! 8) While awaiting Peter Mac to chime in with the definitive answer, I'd guess this is likely a 1981 ST-60 I agree 99% with what Chrisheyes says, but should point out that my 1980 ST-60 Springy (...

Re: silver star, should i buy it?
its about 29,400 yen... (take away two zeros and its in US dollars) Well, seeing the US Dollar has recently - this last couple of weeks- dropped through the floor, it's actually under $250 US.... A friend just got one, ....& it's killer.... http://forum.skype.com/style_emoticons/skype/tongueout.png

Hi kmarccoco, I don't think so. But it's certainly going to be a marked improvement over the Zamak one! I've not tried the Wilkinson personally, though it does look as if it might have been be easier to slap on there by myself. I'm not sure if the fit would be as, erm, 'tight" & transfer as much of ...

I gigged my 82 Springy on Sunday. A guy in the audience came up and said "Mate, that's the best sounding Strat I've ever heard. What is it?" :D Haha, same exact thing happened to me Thursday at a gig in Wanchai - ...it was my '80 Springy ST-60 http://forum.skype.com/style_emoticons/skype/giggle.png...

Yeah, looks OK... ...the white knobs & covers on the black give it that "Tuxedo" look. - but I'm just wondering why the seller asserts that a "copy of a 1970's Fender Strat with 3 bolt neck, bullet truss rod and large headstock" (i.e. a copy of a CBS-era guitar) would be the one to go for to get a "P...
