I am not sure what you mean lasher, do you mean top is bare, that is flame you see is one piece wood, or like quilted top, thin layer sticked on the top and solid part underneath? If so, your LS120 is like quilt, very rare to see unquilt for 82, 120. But if you are talking 150 or 200, it is differen...

Right?

Are you saying low grade American guitars and High grade Japanese guitars compete equally?

As it's been for a while since I post this message and absolutely nobody have responsed opinion about high grade vintage tokai, I have to assume nobody in this forum have high grade reborn or high grade vintage Love rock and cannot make comparison to the current one. Well, I thought this forum is fo...

HI Falcon, every Cat's eye above 500 is very good, anything above 1000 is like heaven, invest your money, I promise you, you will never regret it. I used to own CE 180 (very unlike what you are looking for) but it was still good guitar. However 76 1200 would be VERY difficult to find it, but I won't...

to Paladin2019 I AM very disappointed you don't know anything about Japanese guitars. (well I know just little too...) If you are after Burns Brian May, go Greco, affordable, very nice guitar, I have never heard compleiment for May Greco. Burns is crap, not good as used to be, I can't believe they m...

It would be slightly different but I have ES 150J back in 81, it is superb, breath taking for looks and tones. There are birds eyes all over the place on 1 piece maple top and what a wonderful maho neck!! It has really feel of vintage it is absolutely amazing.

Hope your new ES100 is good too.

To Falcon Rust I think it would be very difficult to compare new (90s, 00s) Tokai guitar to Gibbo, as you know. But if you are looking at early 80s ES 120, I would say difenite to Tokai. I actually own 81's ES150, actually called ES150J. It is a piece of gem. I belive it is flag ship model made at t...

hey Dazze, I'm not sure it is helpful answer as you posted quite a while ago... I think it is depending on which tokai era you are looking for. Pre 82, unlawsuite, you should look at around 500 (UK GBP), which I have, sounds like a killer. Post 82 would be lower as quality is not so good. good luck

I am half agree to javelin70, Low grade TST or TGS have no nice pick ups, but high grader have good one. BTW, I am little stuck with whether the neck of my springy is replaced from other springy, is there any way that I can check it from neck and body serial numbers? They are closely related... Does...
