Re: Love Rock Pickup Height: Neck below the ring?

and then you get into the whole 'polepiece height' thing.. lol Right. It's all about the polepiece height and distance from the strings anyway - regardless of how high/low the pickup is. Look at old P90's with the pole pieces screwed almost all the way out of the pickup itself .... Let's not forget...

Re: This place used to be buzzing...

Ok perhaps not as strong a word as demise, down turn perhaps. What saddens me the most all the Photobucket image blurring, removing so much of the visual elements of these useful posts... Good point....I used to use Photobucket. What they are doing now is trying to charge us long time users for pho...

Demise? I don't see it that way - look at the archive of posts, photos, links, etc. That didn't go away.

Re: Canadian spec Korean Tokai aka Fakai

Bootleg / fake Korean Tokai made by Dillion for an unscrupulous Canadian dealer - zoom into the back of the headstock. The birthmark of these particular fakes are the "MAKE in Korea' script. That seller is simply polishing a turd with his sales pitch.

Re: This place used to be buzzing...

This forum is still a wealth of information .... in the almost 20 years I've been here, Tokai (and other MIJ brands) is no longer the mystery it was before. Look at how flooded Ebay and Reverb are with them.... and for a hell of a lot more money. This forum in part has helped educate the masses and ...

I don't think the spelling was ever corrected for the vintage series. Just a cool little "birthmark" on them.

Re: Bacchus "Beginning of the New Tradition"

Agreed.... I've had two BST-64V's, an absolutely magnificent Classic Series Les Paul with a monster neck and an absolute gem of a Live Road LP Junior double cut.

Don't know if you noticed (or if it was mentioned above ^^^) but beginning is misspelled on them as begining ..... just a cool little factoid.

Re: Tokai LS1 R4 Goldtop Reborn Old

All I can say is fabulous!! I have one of the early prototypes that Gottfried did on an early limited run ..... fantastic guitar. Great sound feel, neck profile, etc. I had a 56 model at the same time and I ended up selling that one. To my ear, the wrap tailpiece has a nicer tone. Good luck with the...
