I have a MIM Classic Player 50's. The Tokai neck is substantially larger.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has a burst style finish on one of these Chinese 335 copies. I've had one for about four months now, no model #, no serial #, etc, with a cherry sunburst finish, antique white binding, bigsby style trem, and Grover tuners. I got it for a steal of a deal including a...

Re: Tokai dh 502 ch

Just got confirmation from the licenced tokai supplier that these are indeed genuine Tokai"s Sunbird :D Whoopie! Genuine Imitations! I am with Honeyboy on this one. First, we all like our Tokai guitars. They are amazing. However, we all should agree that one reason that we purchased our Tokai...

Above mentioned guitar is a fake and not a Tokai guitar.
Do mean to tell me that my Chinese Tokai 335 is actually a fake of a fake? What kind of low-life ice hole would fake a fake? Get a rope.
:o I never really thought of it that way. Well said. Good point! :D

Thanks RossW How do you like the sound of the pickups.I find it goes from a nice blues sound to a wild rockabilly with a flick of the switch. The solders seem alright on mine so far. sunbird have you thought of changing the tuners to deluxe tulips??????? BTW, where did you get yours? Did you get it ...

Hey bird,
Yes, I do like the pu's. I was going to look into new pu's, but I think I will wait, the stock ones are working fine. I did have some cold solder problems, but the dealer took care of that for me. Do you have the Grover tuners? I like them.

Hey sunbird,
Nice guitar. I have the same guitar. I agree, I can't put mine down and I could care less where it is built.

Hi JSD,
I fully agree with your comments. Many of us get caught up in the name and place of manufacture. At the end of the day I want a quality guitar that sounds great. We should play for ourselves and hope that others appreciate the tone, not the name on the headstock.

play on!

Hi Dan,
I have been told that the model number is DH 502 and is based on the Korean NES 80.

I go with Tokai semi hollow.

I suggest that instead of talking about it, you play it!

I emailed music canada as they have another of the same guitars listed. He has told me they are made in China. He said they came from the Dillion plant there - but have been labelled Tokai ..whatever that might mean. Yes, they are made in China. I have one of those. Does your guitar have Grovers? I...

I agree with both sides of the argument. Tokai has the copy thing down to a science, and for the most part, that is the attraction. High quality copies at a reasonable price.

I do like the new model in the picture. I have a Godin that looks just like it! (Godin came first!).
