I don't think Tokais are approaching Gibson prices, it's more like Gibson are cutting their prices to cope with the recession and get rid of the crap they produced in 2012. Hi Lance, In my country, a Gibbo Trad is RRP $3999, & $2650 street, a Std is $4499 & $2995 street price. An LS260 is $3995, wi...

That is a Korean guitar, of some description. Tell tale points are the Tone & Vol knobs, shape of the nut, cream plastic cavity plates, colour of the green on the tuners, the usual Korean buffing compound in the fretboard grain, it also lacks the usual squeezed out glue around the neck tenon that th...

Perhaps it would help the luthier that you take it to if he has some setup specifications to compare where the guitar is now. When I set the guitar up, for "lead playing", prior to shipping to WA the basic specs are as follows:- Action at nut: 0.020" ~ 0.010" Action at 12th fret: 4/64" low E, 3/64" ...

Yes, it is a real Tokai ALS48. Chinese ALS48's have been around since 2006. There are fake Chinese Tokais around, here is one that was.. ahem... "parallel imported" by some people in New Zealand. Oddly they are now the official Tokai importer for NZ. I wonder if Mr Adachi knows about their activitie...

If it has an FC serial number prefix, it would be Made in China. Fine Corp production moved largely from Korea to China quite a few years ago. Made in Korea Tokais will have "Made in Korea" painted in a contrasting colour on the back of the headstock and only some very few early models having a seri...

Close, Fine Corporation made the guitars, firstly in Korea, then in their Chinese factory. Guitars with FC serial number prefixes, and a particular font are Fine Corp guitars. Constant supply was always a problem with them, I waited 12 months for an order while production was being phased out in Kor...

The bridge has the Korean shaped saddles, the knobs are the same colour as the Korean models. Block inlay, never seen them before on an ES60. The 3 screws in the TRC are black, the same as the Korean FA70's. The plastic nut has been changed for a smaller vintage sized, presumably bone item, there is...
