I have a white 82 "open O" LPC with fret end binding that I paid ~ $500 for 2 years ago, a black 84 lpc that was $250 (Body and neck only), and another white 85 that I recently sold for $600, all "OPEN O" with serial #s. I didn't know there was anything special about the open O. But I must admit, th...

I have a white(yellowed) burny LPC MIJ with a factory installed original FR trem. I got it off e-bay ~ 6 years ago, and the previous owner said he thought it was early 80s. From the wear on the gold plating it certainly looks about that age. It has standard LP electronics and controls; no sustainer,...

Call off the lynching! I got my Burny SG this morning, and from all indications it's exactly as advertised, and sounds and plays great. It has the 2 screw truss rod cover, VH1 stickers on the pup rings, long neck tenon, and MIJ stamped on the nickel bridge and tailpiece bottoms. It is in need of a s...

I should be recieving the guitar Saturday. I'll be sure to check the bottom of the bridge for any MIJ info, although that will only tell me if the bridge is MIJ, not the entire guitar. Does anyone know how to check if the pups are real VH-1s other than by a sticker on the pup ring? Where would I fin...

Burny '61 SG reissue

I just won the auction on e-bay for this, and can't wait to get it.

I have a Burny LPC which I really like, so hopefully it's of the same quality.
Does anyone here own one of these?

I just bought a Burny SG off e-bay, and it advertises VH1's. I'm anxious to get it and hear them.
Villager, I have a Greco Custom LP, EG650 with the dry pickups. They are great sounding pickups.

Love Rock decal

I need a new love rock decal for my LS80; the old one has been mostly buffed off, and I'd like to refinish the headstock. Does anyone know where one could be found?

My 1980 LS80 is lacquer, and I know that the LS50's were poly, but I'm not sure about the ls60. Try the acetone test in a spot where you can't see it like under the pickup mounting ring. lacquer will melt in acetone or lacquer thinner (or nail polish remover), but poly is impervious to it.

Which Greco models/years had chambered bodies?

I've got a 1985 EG600 ( I think), and an 86 EG650. Is there a definitive way of determining if they have chambered bodies? The acoustic ring of each sounds as though they may be chambered, but they both weigh 10 pounds which is the same as my Tokai and Burny which I know to be solid. I usually think...

I was considering trying BB's in my 1980 ls80, but went with a set of Fralins wound to 8.5k N, and 10k B since I was pretty happy with Fralin strat and P-90 pups in a couple of other guitars. These are some of the best HBs I've ever heard. I do guitar repair for a living, and had a historic 58 reiss...
